First time doing an engine like this. Here are some specs: 4" bore, 3.70" stroke, aluminum block and heads, four-valve OHC, dual plugs per head, water/air cooled, fuel injected 40mm throttle body, here are the cam specs: Intake valves are 38mm, exhaust 33mm. Here is a view of the combustion chamber: I'm using flat dished pistons on floating wrist pins, the pistons have a squish band around the top: Plan to set the pistons for 0.045" quench, my goal is to achieve 10.3:1 comp ratio, with these pistons in the stock bore, just freshened up, no overbore. But first I have to cc the piston top and the combustion chamber so I know the numbers for the comp ratio calculator. Ignition advance will be limited to 32 degrees BTDC. This engine has architecture comparable to a Chevy SB which I why I posted this here. Does this combination of parts and specs look good to produce a good result to run on premium pump gas? I think I have the right stuff, just asking for opinions as I get into my build. What I learn from doing this engine will guide my 5.2 Magnum build for the 56 Dodge shown in my avatar. Similar goal for that engine, pistons, deck work, tight quench, 10:1 comp ratio but to run on 87 to 93 pump gas (Wisconsin, so I can get whole gas easy).
