    that would be******in'

  4. It would be cool with one of those Weiand tunnel rams with
the six pack top. PS. If you'd like the "magnesium look" have the intake,
cast valve covers etc. hard anodized. It works great.

  5. Wow, that photochopped picture took my breath away. Please do it man it looks amazing.

I am going to build one ..

Just have to find the right car , working on it right now

    55 or 61 Plymouth HARDTOP ..

  14. might not be what you want to hear, but how about takin it down the old USAC/NASCAR road instead. Wide rims, speedway tires, all trim gone. Cubic in's on the hood, drivers name on the roof. Period decals, vintage sponsor. Maybe even vintage Mexican road racer. Gasser's are becoming the camaro's of the rodding world.

I never get statements like this....
    1. A Camaro is a car model. A SINGLE model. One manufacturer.
A Gasser, is, either: A. A single minded, purpose-built race car, from the mid-50's until about '69/70.
    B. A reproduction, or simulation of such.

I'm NOT talking about emulation..."street-freaks", the predecessors of pro-street....and, in fact, they don't bother me either...

Anything can be built like this, and diversity is still there.
    Gassers, are....well: Forever.
In fact, I don't even consider them part of the "rodding world".
    They are RACE CARS.
Evolved from stripped down, street cars.
They cannot become cliche, as they represent PERIOD IN HISTORY.
It's just ignorant to suggest that they are a "fad"...
Lots of folks are building them, now...probably more than ever since their hey-day, but, its not like we are talking about one type of car, or style of build.
I can't wait until someone says "FED's are the new flat black"....
    NO...they're FED's! Always and forever...
    These aren't NEW inventions, folks...
    They're forever...

Will do. was hoping to meet you. I'll report. Lippy:cool:

  21. But we are talking about one style. Gasser. Not FED, not Funny Car, not modified production and so on. I have no problem with a well built gasser style car. And from what these two guys can do, I have no doubt it will be a quality build. However it seems that every other day we get asked should I make this a Gasser?
And most of the questions are coming from people using "Gasser" as the new buzz word.
Oh, and I'm sorry you didn't get it.

Maybe you should post up a pic of YOUR current project or Hot Rod so we can see if you have the Credentials to tell us if the "Gasser's" of today are what you say.

I Dare Ya ... Post it up !!

    Nah...I get it.
    I just disagree.
And, yes, a lot of folks think that by "make it a gasser", it means lets stick an Econoline axle under it, pie-crust slicks out back, and put a giant scoop over the three on the tree backed stock 6 banger...
but, I'm pretty sure thats not what his plans are, correct? You said you know what these guys can do, right?
Don't let the irritation that inevitably wells up inside ( and it DOES, I know...) when the mass-appeal, and general misunderstanding of something, turn it into a joke.
Its still the same thing it ever was, popular or not...I'll ALWAYS love a nostalgic drag car, Gasser, A/FX, Super Stock/M/P, whatever...
If everyone on earth had one, I'd STILL love 'em...
Thats just what I'm saying...don't NOT do something you want to do, just because too many other people are doing it.

"Gasser" is a style .. a look a reflection in time..
and tip of the cap to those that were there .. Yeah, some are a faux but if the person in charge of the built GETS IT RIGHT ..

It will take people back into a time when those cars were feared ..

I for one really only have interest in a certain brand of vehicle and I just don't have desire to build a 30 something ford with a flatty

Are they cool ?, yep ..very

But , ITS not my deal .. So, I have to try to stay within a certain era
On my next project and this is my way to do that

Sure , I could put a M11 under a 50's Mopar but, really how close does that mimic the style of that era ?

Build whatever you like, those that like it will enjoy it ..if its not your style ignore it ..i do that all the time
