I don't know how the lowest point in the lower end front horns on a 32 frame if one use a 4" drop axle, A-Ford cross and a reversed eye on a std 32 spring and the use of a 4.50 x 16" tire.
I guess no need of jack up the frame for spring, or ?
I seen now 5" dropped axles and flat cross and a mono leaf and it seems need a jack at maybe 2" or more.
I read that give a height to horn not even at 4" to ground and also to concern about the oilpan.
-Question is, how's riding a car like that ( say use 7.50 tires rear )
Or is this just for 'show' ?

  2. My '32 pickup sported a Model A front cross member, a mono spring and a 4" dropped I beam, the front tires were 5:60 x 15" and the front splash apron was 4" from the pavement. HRP

So your horns ( lower part ) is 4" from ground.
Did you need jack up the frame go that low ?
Maybe the 15" wheels did help get it so low.
Any issues ride it 'normally' ?
    Bumps etc etc.

  4. The ride was great, I raised the Model A front crossmember even with the top of the frame and notched the frame on either side of the crossmember to give additional room for the spring to travel and not hit the frame, the front splash apron was 4" from the ground. the frame horns were about 6" from the ground.
I really liked the stance. HRP

It’s going to ride about the same regardless of how high or low it is. 4” at the end of the horns should be plenty unless you get into some really steep driveway situation

I will go as low as possible by using my old 4” dropped/chromed A-Ford axle and A cross and flat it out, but use the std 32 spring and reverse the eye.
-If I need cut frame up for the spring I will do that.
Maybe I can’t get 4” from ground to the horns but it shore will be low.
I must has the ’rake ’on frame even if this was never done back then when my speed parts was made ( but.. it could been - right )

When I started this 3W project ( now a 5W ) it was at some critetia.
Angle pillar and chopped so it look cool, low in front and black paint and black lether inside.
Ok I went from pre-war ideas and 29 roadster ( to big $ get a 3W ) to after war to late 40’s and now early 50’s.
I like that late 40’s era speed parts but it has to be mixed now with later style ideas on look/body.
I also first was into a hood then when I got the 5W it was no hood, but now even if most parts is Henry I think I need get a new made hood as pricing is ridicules on the Henry 25 hoods.
I must has a car fit my style as wedge shopped, angle pillar and rake the frame so it become very low in front.

I've read that mono springs can be bouncy. However, I assume any hot rod with the frame horns 4" off the ground is going to be bouncy and rough riding.

I has no clue as I never ride a hot-rod.
I has not much concern it will be smooth ride.
I try avoid new parts so no monoleaf for that reson.
-The idea ( question ) was does it even work go that low, as I plan use the car.
This car will be a nightmare to use, as far-far from a street rod with a std weak frame, 37 bones rear and splitted 32 front, skinny fronts and diabas tires, chopped, no isulation on firewall, 39 Lincoln transmission, 4.44 in rear, old design brakes Lincoln 42, flathead with 10 in compression and 4 direct poft carbs and a very hot cam.
One idea is rew 6K and that is 120 mph and one told me ; that is going to be a intresting ride ;- )
But from that is to use old speed parts and has a good flow on car is what its about.
