Tell Doug to mention my name and ask about some seat time in the Daytona Coupe. Still looking for the MERCER photos.

  6. Will do!!!:D

Made it in to Philly this morning around 8 and already itchin' to get down there.

From the whopping response to this thread, I am assuming that everyone is either going to be at York, or you all think I'm leprous...

    Hey Mac!
I live about 15 mins from that place and I've never been there....yet! I will be at York on Saturday at the Ron Francis booth so I'm sorry, but I can't meet you and take the tour. I will, however, make it there one day soon. Looks like a cool place.

I wish I could be down thater for that tour. The collection looks stupendous. I'm sure you will have a great time, whether or not there are a boat load of people going with you.

10-4 on the name drop. I need to put fingerprints on that Cobra. I touched a real GT-40 last week at the AACA museum's new sportscar display, but that's a secret.

That Daytona Coupe body added 20MPH to the Cobra I believe.

The Simeone 1911 MERCER may be the only factory racer to survive, it never had fenders and has quick detach wheel rims. Local plumber owned it since at least 1919 untill the mid 1960's. It really has a great home now.

Funny, all the years I've been around Philly (60) and i never ran across this. But, I just saw an article about it in the Hagerty mag and now have to add it to the list. Still gotta do the AACA Hershey museum and get the oldest daughter married in three weeks first. Maybe after hay season. How was it?

If you like Mercers, the Mercer Reunion is in July. Go here for details -

    http://www.roeblingmuseum.org/index.htm

The Mercer owners are going to the Simeone Museum on the Friday before the event and word is there is going to be a Mercer/Stutz grudge race.

Sorry the pictures are too dark, but it's all I got.

'37- from everything I hear, the Mercer is a hands-down winner (sorry FB). I will try to get as many photos as I can tomorrow with Mr. and Mrs. noboD.

The offer is still open to anyone who wants to make the trip- we'll be there at 10AM.

    See you there, Bill
