Anybody know the guy who owns the car in the first pic? Obviously I am curious about the car. Perhaps they were seperated at birth LOL. He does probably have the cooler engine. Odd to run into a car so similar and yet so different.
That's the Tognotti coupe, it's absolutely *****in'...was at the Pebble Beach coupes event in '01, so look here or the TRJ article for more on that... http://www.hotrod.com/eventcoverage/2001_pebble_beach_concours/ Sold for $216k at BJ: http://www.barrett-jackson.com/auctionresults/common/cardetail.asp?id=183219
Yeah, I ****ed that all up...that's what happens when you drive back home to SF from LA at about 11 pm, in bed at 5:30, at work by 9...ya try to be helpful and screw it all up. I saw that Rolling Bones sedan in the background, got thinking about deuces, went for Tognotti...yeah I was way off. I remember now that Tognotti wasn't even in that building, it was over with the Reno museum cars.
Front shots... Like I said, he has one cool mill. The fronts are where they get really different. I guess great minds think alike. (har har) His gold pops far more than mine...I am guessing it is a house of color gold. Interior... I came very close to doing black and white like his and I almost used a 61 wheel. In fact I still have the wheel and was thinking of using it on my roadster. I have been having fun compairing them...probably boring to the rest of you.
Well, this one was built by another Texan (and is another fave of mine) and is closer to Tognotti's in color so how about another gold five windor for the mix?
Maybe one of my favorite cars at GNRS. Looked freshly built. Gold/Copper seemed to be the color this year. Rick Love's 5 window is equally as nice.
