i was going thru some of my dads stuff (he died 4 yrs ago) and found this really cooool speed-o. (not the kind you wear!). looks like they tried to incorporate the speed and the rpms and overdrive shifting all in 1 needle. can't see how that would work, but it looks cool enough to build a car around it! it says "airflow" on the bottom, so i guess it's a late 30's chrysler airflow. i gotta use it on something. it still moves when you spin the back and the cover is glass! any way thought i'd show that to ya'll. reggie
also found this speed-o and have no idea what it fits. almost looks like some kind of add-on. any guesses? reggie
The RPM numbers are probably for high gear only. And then the inner ring of numbers is for when you're in overdrive. As long as the car had the stock size tires on it, it should be close enough.
There used to be an old Airflow at El Paso at the antique and junk store, Hwy 5 just north of Hwy 64. Bad thing, it resembles the green Model A Fordor that has been hated on around here.
i was digging thru some car stuff in an antique store last week on the way back from florida and found one just like it. went up front to buy it and they didn't take debit cards. ( i'm gettin to hate that thing...i hardly ever have cash anymore.) so i went back and put it under some stuff and will go back and get it next week on the way back down. reggie
I *think* that's a Studebaker....I just watched MFS 4 last night with Bass's coupe in it, and that's what his coupe has in it...cool as hell.
thanks...i appreciate everyones help. i've been hanging on to that stude speed-o for about a year and knew the whole time you guys would know what it was, i just never stopped to learn how to post a pic till a couple of days ago. i told my wife ya'll would know...she said ya, they're all crazy like you everythings about a car...i said "ANDDD!" thanks again reggie
