This might get long winded, so sorry in advance. Well, title/escrow opened on my house today so it looks like we have 30 days to pack up our crap and leave. Timing kinda sucks being right between the holidays, but I will take what I can get. My wife and I have had a strong desire to move to Austin, Tx. for almost 5 years now. Now is our chance and we are jumping on it. I feel like I am writing my will out here, but I have been born and raised in SoCal, so I just wanted to say a quick thanks to the things and people important to me (if your bored, stop reading..............now) thanks to all the support from my Cali buddies thru the years with the numerous crap boxes I have bought and attempted to drive around; cruising Old Town Pasadena back in high school and getting excited when we threw flames and the girls started yelling(until the bike cops almost towed my Pontiac one time); cruising Downtown Whittier and El Monte just because it wasn't "the place to be" at night, blowing up the motor on the 10 FWY in my 56 pontiac 2 hours after buying it...and on and on and on. Thanks to the Sacred Karts and Lonely Kings (RIP)for directing me in the right direction and staying true to that idea since 93; Hootenanny 95-2000;Mike Ness and Brian Stezer; the Dead End Cruisers, The Lucky Devils, and the Mishifts(SoCal) for some club "fun", the Modifiers for letting me tag along(Ronnie, Jason, Jason, Donald), Hawleywoods Barber Shop for not cutting my ears off,Sid at Sids Tattoo Parlor for not only being a great artist, but a great friend, Axle for throwing one hell of a Pontiac BBQ, Buddy Dughi(the other Brian Setzer, only shorter) for driving almost 100 mph in your coupe down the 55 FWY with slicks; Mooneyes, Hot Rod's, Huby's Transmissions (Swedish trans builder) in Corona for rebuilding my trans and rearend and brakes and suspension for $200 and 2 12 packs of Bud (even though I took it in ONLY for a leaky trans problem). Sure, I could not understand you, but going the extra mile is what got you a smokin hot playmate girlfriend. To everyone else I have left out, sorry. You will probably forget who I am in 4 days anyways. I will be checking email but not posting for the 4 of you that read my posts If anyone needs to talk or whatever; kustom55@yahoo.com Play nice and the next time I will post I will just be coming back from the Continental Club drinking a Lone Star humming to the tunes of Wayne Hancock. Oh yea, rehab is still for quitters.
Hey man good luck in Texas and get back on the HAMB asap, have a kick ass time in Austin! Ted (Mishifts Nor-Cal)
Git your ass to Texas and come back swingin'!!! Good luck with the move and new life...we'll save your seat and keep your beer mug on the rack waitin' for your return!!
Welcome to Texas! You are going to be more than happy, and I am sure the Austinites will be more than hospitable to ya. Hell the lower cost of living will mean more hot rodding you can afford!!
Hey! Welcome to Texas. I was born in Santa Cruz, but transplanted very young. You are going to love Austin, and we Texans are glad to be gaining another rodder!! See you at the Round Up next year!
A million to go! Just kidding... Can't say you're relocating to a much better climate, but the surroundings sure as hell beat the 909! The only thing keeping me from moving there is alcoholic tendencies! Good luck!
Welcome in advance....but if you stumble on an old farmhouse, with a generator running and old bones hanging from trees, RUN,don't walk.....also, don't pick up any hitchikers near Bastrop on 304....or stop for gas there either!
In fact, if you see a hitchiker in Bastrop on your way out here... TURN AROUND! You just missed Austin by 30 miles.
The first bumper sticker I saw when I moved from California to Texas..., "Don't Californicate Texas!" Loved California but I was at Home in Texas...! In Texas you can use your Cruise Control...! Have A Safe Trip! Mark

Good luck on the move. When I was reading your post I saw the little tidbit about Buddy. I have known Buddy for about ten years now and a super cool guys and hard core hot rodder. If something happens along the way on the move give a call here at the shop (520-790-1885)and I will email my home number. If you decided to make pit stop here, let me know. Good luck and give a report on how the move went.
