Well, between working and dodging the storms in OK, I managed to score some new parts for my 55 Customline build!!! First thing I got was a 12-circuit wiring harness for $75 (after selling a 20 circuit I won a few years ago for $125!!!!!) This past weekend I got a new IDIDIT tilt column for $165 Tonight I got a list of parts from a buddy and bought all my disk brake pieces for making my 9" a rear disk.....total for brackets, rotors, calipers, hoses etc was just over $200!!! Speaking of the 9", I got it a few months ago from an acquaintance who'd had it custom built for his Maverick......narrowed with custom axles (Yukon I believe)......he had over a grand in it and needed to peddle his project quick. He couldn't see giving away the axle with what he was getting out of it all so I traded him a stock 8" open for it and he gave me the 9"!!!! Still don't quite get it but, I'm not complaining!!!! I'll hopefully get the disks done on it this weekend if all goes well!! Gotta love gettin deals!!! Maybe this one will actually get to see the road this summer if this keeps up!?!?!?
Yeah, I can do that!!! These are part numbers from O'Reilly's, they use gm metric style calipers (front's, from say an 85 Monte Carlo) and the same application hoses. The rotors are from a Jeep that have 5x4-1/2 bolt circle. The calipers bolt to a bracket I got from our local speed shop that I think you could get from Jegs or Speedway.... Rotors: 780444RGS (2) Calipers: 18-4071 & 18-4072 Pads: MKD154 Hoses: Fronts, BH36847 (2) Rear body to axle: BH36851 Banjo bolts: 13940 (2) I'll have to find the receipt for the brackets and post it up....think it's in my truck yet but those parts should get ya started!!!! The brackets just weld onto your axle housing......***emble them and bolt on a rotor and align everything then weld the bracket so the caliper can float free over the rotor and run some new lines. NOTE* The rear uses 2 short hoses so theres flexibility as the caliper needs to move so just plumb your new steel lines out to them and secure them with some tabs. Hope this helps anyone looking to upgrade their rear brakes!!!!
