Good Enough? Flaring Question...

    Just use a file around the edge. If you use a grinder it will either grind to much metal away or leave a rough texture. Height matters when you put in your die, experiment with this, use some oil on your tubing to let the tubing slid against the die and flaring tool, and practice. Everyone screws up there first time, unless there lucky. Unless your going to be doing alot of flaring, just buy pre-made, less frustrtion, get the job done sooner too. They sell expensive tools that makes the old way of doing it primitive. Good luck either way.

    so a double flare is doing it right 2 times on the same end,???????????

    In nutshell, yes, you have two different steps to making a double flare...a double flare "folds" the material over on top of itself, so when tightened up, it becomes the compression point.

    You have to get both steps right, or more than likely you'll have a faliure in the connection.
