Anyone know of a good machine shop in the Houston area or within a reasonable distance? i have a block i need done but dont know of any good/reliable machine shops. Ive heard of Joeys engine and machine here in Houston but thats about it. just wondering if anyone has a place they would recommend. thanks Marc
It's quite a drive from Sugar Land, but there is a good local machine shop in Conroe called Ted's Engine Machine. They've always been fair with prices and time. I don't know their reputation for hi performance, but for daily driver stuff, yeah. There's a race engine shop in Conroe as well called Nickens Brothers Racing engines. They have a good reputation, but I have never used them myself. Hopefully someone will chime in with something closer to you. Or Google and read reviews till you can't see straight.

Brogan's Auto Supply Inc 14530 S Post Oak Rd (713) 433-7261 These guys have been doing it old school since 1971. A lot of local racers use them.
