I recently bought a bunch of Gear Wrench combination wrenches on eBay, a metric and SAE set of 6-pointers. The $$ is reasonable and they are easy on the hands.
I know this is not really what the op asked for but I get used tools from swapmeets, antique malls or eBay. Old tools are really the best, no lifetime warranty but you don't need it.
Update on the Tekton kit I got. Love the sockets, the ratchet is fine toothed...has a bit of a hiccup in it, but better than I expected. Compare a price of HF deep 6 point sockets, in both metric and SAE, then look at ekton and see you get a set of shallow sockets in both as well, plus a ratchet, extension and a swivel. No brainer IMO. Plus I got 10% back on the order I can apply on my next purchase, not sure if I keep getting that, but will be using it soon. Like the tools.
Ya, warranty is nice, but really, only time I broke something is when I abused it. Swapmeet tools are nice, I give ya that, but might take 10 years of looking to fill a set for what I need now. Don't get me wrong, I see something at a SM I like, I buy it, but in this case I needed it now
Lol, I got the set that had deep and shallow SAE and Metrics, came with a ratchet-not my favorite-and a 3 inch extension. I don't do videos, or I'd have made millions on the **** circuit But good sockets for sure, for the price it's less than HF has for their decent ones, might be same quality, but a lot more in the package. Thinking a new Torque wrench from them after the Holidays is in the works. They also give you "bonus dollars?" when you buy and can use on future purchases.
It doesn't have a tight indent on the pawl, the head isn't firm...not loose or anything, but just doesn't have a quality feel to it. It almost feels like it wants to slip when using (although it hasn't). But as I mentioned before, for the 40 bucks you get both SAE and Metric deep and shallow sockets, that's worth it right there.
Thinking back, it may have been 60...I think HF sets (deep) of each were 29.99, and with these you had the shallows as well.
