"Any problems with fading? I mean, does it get real chalky if you don't do much to it?"

Sorry I can't be much help, it was painted in the late 70's or early 80's by the PO. It looked good last year with a buff and wax, now not so much. If it is garaged I think it would last a while, I say this based on the fact it was in a garage from 87 to 06 and it looked real good after the wash, and wax.

There is a whole link dedicated to cheap paint jobs using Rustoleum, its on a MoPar website, lots of info there.

    Good luck.

Thank you! I'll check it out!

My only concern with chalkiness, is that my F2 at stock height, is 4" too high to fit in my garage! Guess they made the Million Dollar Cabs that tall so they wouldn't squish your hat. Guess I'd better start wearing one... it'll be awful cold in the morning!

I've got a '48 that I drug out of Ohio about 4 years ago, last driven in 1973. I couldn't get the hood open before I bought it. When I finally got the hood open....................suprise, a late model flathead with Edmonds finned heads and an Edmond's 2X2 intake with 94's aboard. It's stuck but I'm hoping not cracked as antifreeze came out of the radiator and clear oil drained from the pan. It's stashed in the back of the shop waiting for it's turn. I've got a fresh flathead that might end up in there for awhile but my origional plans were for a 454/700r4 for a tow vehicle. We'll see.

Here's mine. Haven't done much to it but drive it. It's got a Mustang II front, new parallel leaf rear. Still has the 292 and truck tranny.
