I've uploaded my photos here on the HAMB but when I post pics in formus I like to use and external sharing website so outsiders can see the photos. I've been using PhotoBucket but I'm just not liking it very much. Any other good one's out there to post photos in forums?
Here's a link to some reviews of image hosting sites. Google's Picasa is free and is a pretty nice photo browser and also has some free online photo albums, though I've never used their service. http://online-image-hosting-review.toptenreviews.com/picasa-review.html Do you not like the looks of Photobucket or does it not operate smoothly for you. There was lots of grumblings about their site redesign a few months ago but it seems to work pretty smoothly now. It used to get a little sluggish sometimes when using Internet Explorer but I found it to work much better if I used Firefox instead. Google Chrome might work better too but I've never used it as my browser. If you do switch over to something other than Photobucket make sure that you DON'T DELETE YOUR IMAGES stored there. If you do it will break the links to your pics posted on the HAMB and anywhere else on the web.
Thanks for the reply. I was playing around on PicasaWeb during lunch and I'm really liking it. It's simpler. Also on the html image link you can select what size you want the pic displayed at so you don't have to resize it, thats cool. My only problem is that Google redirects you form PicasaWeb to Google+ Photos where I can't find the image link. Sometimes when in Google+ Photos you can see a link saying take be back to PicasaWeb and somtimes you can't...frustrating! Photobucket is locks up at times and is sluggish for me and we have good internet speed at work. Also, I named all my pics for a build I'm dooin 001, 002, 003 and so on an even when I select "Order by Filename" it doesn't. Also don't care for the layout, just getting tired of it.
I was really miffed with Photobuckets changes but finally figured my way around some of the problems. I have realized that if I want to post a photo I need to copy the image in the thumb nails,,if I enlarge the image it takes forever. HRP
Just a wild guess, but some of this sounds like it might be browser related. I'm still running WinXP and IE8 and Photobucket would act a little erratic like this sometimes. You might try clearing your cookies and cache files. Or try a different browser like Firefox or Chrome.
Ok...bet thats what it is. The thing is I'm to cheap to buy my own computer and use my work issued computer and we never have the latest version of Explorer because of security validation issues. I alawys get messages like "please update your browser". May have to try it on my wife's PC with Firefox.
