There's still alot of good tin available. It just takes alot of digging to root it out. In the last ten days I've picked up a 39 ford coupe, 25 T roadster, 26 T speedster. Tonight I'm bringing home a 29 A truck. Persistance pays off - the 39 coupe took me 10 years to buy. Both T's run and drive. The 25 roadster is a 70's nosebleed build that wouldn't be bad if it was lowered 6", but total rebuild would be better. Here's some pics: BTW - I still don't know how to insert pics within the text. Can anyone educate me?
You can't do this if you download your pics onto the Hamb server. The only way is to use a picture website and that allows you to insert pics individually. Hpow does one come by so many cars within a small time frame? Good stash, I might add.
your right, you got too much stuff... i'll be down there promptly to remove that PU from your premesis... nice stable you got man!
If you don't mind me asking, how much did the T pickup bring at the auction, I wasn't there but did post the sale bill, doesn't it have a Volvo drivetrain? Farmall
Pete, I gave 1,800 for the T pickup and drove it home. The owner built that T about 30 years ago. It does have a Volvo 4 cyl and 4speed tranny. I've know him almost that long - dated his daughter 20 years ago. He stopped by my house about a month before the auction and didn't say a word about selling out. Hell, I would have given him more if he would have sold to me then! The amazing thing was the '41 chev 4 door brought over $4,000! You just never know at auctions.
I'm 30 miles southeast of Topeka, near Overbrook. You're welcome to stop in if you're ever down this way. I'm far enough out that I don't have to worry about bringing in alot of stuff. Not yet anyhow, I hear the junkyard police have hit down in Franklin county (Ottawa) and making people out in the country get rid of old cars/trucks/tractors. Chris
Pete, you MUST go see chris's stuff, I bought my motor from him last weekend and I left there feeling giddy. It's incredible. Chris, it may be off topic but I think you need to show a pic of the bulldozer, that's awesome.
Chris, it may be off topic but I think you need to show a pic of the bulldozer, that's awesome.[/QUOTE] Nate, Here's a pic of the dozer when we brought it home from Oklahoma. This puts the size into perspective. 1941 D8, no hydraulics, no electrical system (mag on pony motor), 50K pounds, 1250 cubic inches of diesel power.
Yeah, I got a chance to check out 2much's Secret stash a month or so ago when I picked up my GMC302 from him, Way to much cool stuff for one guy. I gotta move back home to the farm so I can continue my collecting. MONGO
Is the D8 a 2U? Still the dry clutch in 41 anyway. You should hotrod it, drop in a 749 from an old scraper maybe.
What in the hell do you need a dozer that freaking big for? When do you think the next "there still out there post will be". There seems to be a new one every two or three days. If I had a nickle for every one of those posts I roll them up and punch the next person that tells me there still out there. I know I live in Texas there freaking every where if you dont mind being shot at.
willowbilly3 :Is the D8 a 2U? The D8 is an early 8R with dry clutch. leadsleadolds: What in the hell do you need a dozer that freaking big for ? Its just like our rods - need has nothing to do with it. It's good therapy - ever feel like throwing a hammer across the shop? Instead just jump on the Cat and push over a half dozen trees or so. A great way to work off frustration!! Zach - that's a good find. Did you get the front end for it? Are you going to build it? What's the truck cab in the background? Last week I brought home a 31 A truck and a 40 deluxe sedan. The 40 is nice enough that I've got in in the shed and am putting it together. Here's a pic of the truck, I don't have any of the 40.
