Let me know what you think... I am trading my 1931 Ford Sedan for the 1957 Chevy 3100 truck, $1000 and I get to keep my Offy intake, all carbs and distributor. My 31' is original steel body, scratch built custom frame 350/350, 10 bolt 3:83 w/ posi The 57' is original straight axle, later model Chevy rear end, all drum, 327/700r4, 2 owner
I would do it if it were me because I really like that truck and that A Model just isn't my style of vehicle.
I'm not a Chevy truck guy, but that is one 'cream puff', as my Chevy pals used to say. Maybe it's the blue-and-white paint...(what color's a 'cream puff'???) You can measure wheelbases, that sedan is not my style either, but looks like 'long green' to me. Make the truck guy kick in a few inches of wheelbase $$. But? Seriously, the sedan has loads of detail work....but that truck is gettin' THIS Ford guy's attention, an' that's sayin' somethin'! "...A guy NEEDS a Nice Truck." ...'Uncle Mike'.
I like the truck but I wonder if the white was shot on to make a wavy body less obvious? Looks like its already cut in if you wanted to go ahead and paint it the blue if it isnt wavy or you can make it straight if it is.
"Askin' ain't Gettin" but out here in SoCal that small window truck would listed for sale between $12,000 and maybe as much as $15 or 16,000. Yeah, I know...they've gone up a lot out here recently. But again just because they ask those numbers doesn't mean they get them.
Check for rust underneath. I would trade in a heartbeat, but I like those trucks, straight axle and all. And paint it one color or the other.
I like the truck a lot too, even with the two tone. Unless it's hiding some really poor work, I think this is a heck of a deal on your end. I'd swap the wheels off of the truck for something more period appropriate, and maybe an afternoon of engine detailing, but that'd be it, everything else looks great. I'll agree with the others that said the car doesn't do anything for me.
