Great book. Cliff Ruggles is also one of the best quadrajet guys in the country, I think he may be retired now.
If you can find a copy of Motor's Automatic Transmission Manual from the late 60's - early 70's, it has complete rebuild information. It also has information on all other transmission of the era. I used it as a text book back in the 70's when I taught automatic transmission rebuild. I've still got my copy and use it when I'm doing transmission work. Another good bet is a workshop manual for a car that came with a 400 transmission.
I have a few late 60s-70s Chevrolet Chassis Overhaul Manuals, they're pretty handy too. In addition to the Ron Sessions book.
Thanks for the info guys! I'll be adding as many of these guides as possible to my meager collection of reference material. I've rebuilt plenty of manual boxes, but never an automatic. Thinking about getting one prepped up for one of my future projects. I appreciate all your input. Knowledge is power
If you have rebuilt standard transmissions, You will find how easy the 400 is to go through. The Cliff Ruggles book has some good info on tools you need to make. There are also many you-tube 400 rebuild videos.
