Just got a heads up that the 16 x 4.5 wheel I ordered over a year ago is being shipped. These have been out of stock everywhere for awhile now and WV is now producing them again. Good news for me and quite a few others, I'm sure
I’ve been wondering when and if Wheel Vintiques was going to get back to business as usual. I had an order in for chrome wheels over a year ago but gave up. Very disappointing, they were making a great product for a decent price but seemed to run off the tracks.
Yeah, I had the same experience. The delivery date kept moving forward, turned into months instead of weeks. I canceled and bought elsewhere. IIRC they were bought up by Coker, seemed to have the same issues as Holley did digesting Edelbrock.
I thought that you had some REAL good news, like they went out of business! After many problems with their products, I went to WheelSmith and never looked back.
Supply train issues and in truth, Any specialty item manufacturer gears up to run the item that they have the most standing orders for or the most demand for first and works their way down the list. Although nifty they probably don't sell two hundred pair of 16x4 a year.
I talked with Wheelsmith when my Vintiques order seemed futile but they didn’t make anything like the Vintiques 64 series OEM style wheels for the 10 1/8” hub caps. If I supplied the centers they could make some but I didn’t have any centers. They were very accommodating and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them if they have what I want. They were also more expensive than Vintiques, but Vintiques was a dead end no matter what the cost. I hope Wheel Vintiques gets back to at least making their standard sizes in chrome and raw steel.
