I was in the final in the very last race on Sunday. Maybe an historic event? Who knows? From my perspective in the water box, the blechers on both sides of the track were filled to capacity, and there were more spectators walking the pits. The food court ran out of food. I believe and hope it was a success for all.

The controversy over GGy's dropping the drags is deep. If it happens we drag racers will find other events that will draw similar crowds, because track owners and operators are in the business of filling the stands, not counting how many hot rods show up. No bad vibe intended. I own a Rod too, and loved it when we would sit around and do not much, over a beer. Once in a while I kinda miss those days, but for now we'll keep racing.

    Dave:

nice job racing! I was rooting for you.

always good to see you. Thanks for the offer to use a starter. Mine survived.

Yes. The BG event will be canned. GG is getting out of drag racing altogether I hear and that will impact all the events that feature drag racing. This comes from one of the Top Fuel drivers I'm friends with. As far as the Indy event - that one is still undecided.

Oh, BTW, I had a blast this past weekend. Great food, fun, and lots of cars. As far as profits - who knows? I am a member of a number of "Car Organizations" and find that the GoodGuys just can't compete with some of the others. But, I patronize all of them equally. If you saw a chopped top 46 Olds Sedan that was painted Sunset Orange (like a copper penny) you were looking at mine.

I'm curious to know who you think does better and why/how. This is a legitimate question because I'm always looking for suggestions for improvement.

What controversy? If the drags went away it would be because of lack of profitability and no other reason.

R.I.P to the GG's show I enjoyed the most.

For me it was the fact that it was made up mostly of drivers that got my attention. Really enjoy seeing those bugs stuck in the grille of most of the folks registering Thursday and Friday.

Yea, I am bummed about it being canceled if that is true. I made this show and race a priority this year to attend. It was a 6hr ride there and I didnt want to go home. Hope its not true. We had a blast!!
