I'll be in Indy. How will we know where this area is? Usually you are just doing good to get in and find a spot to park in Indy.

When you enter just tell them that you are going to the Garage Grown area. They;ll give you directions.

  2. I am down for Phoenix at the end of the year. I will help in any way you need. It sounds like a really cool idea. Metalshapes and myself make the cruise every year and have a really good time.

Hey Jim and Kirk, that's a great idea. Please put me down for one of the Pleasanton entries. Either taking my modified (if I don't sell it at Paso this weekend) or my 37 Chevy truck. Sounds like a good time, I sent you a PM Jim. Thanks!

That's awesome. I know I won't make my car there for the June 5th show, but I'll be there to support it. Glad to see things are turning this way!

Will this 'garage grown' area be at all the GG events. We are preparing the wagon and a couple of other projects in hopes that it will be at the Ft.Worth GG.

Very cool idea! Don't forget Spokane! I was thinking of skipping the show, due to the rather high cost, an so many cars I'm not that interested in. Do this for Spokane, and I'll be there.

    Same here.

  7. Congraulations! That's fantastic. I hope everyone takes advantage of this great oppurtunity.

    My hats off.

Goodguys in Salt Lake would be a good idea. Closest to me is Spokane. Lots of HAMBers in Salt Lake. Those of us in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming would figure anything under 400 miles away is a local event! Distances are big out here. We don't have to pick between several events within 1 hour of home every weekend like the Californicators do. [IMG]

Salt Lake is only 150 miles from me. That's just down the street in our terms. I've gone that far just to hear Stevie Nicks sing after the Jack Daniels starts kickin' in. "What a *****in' babe!" [IMG]

That's really cool! Unfortunately for me, my car is way behind schedule AND my sister is getting married that weekend. Always next year I guess...

Great idea! And good to know what date the Pleasanton show is. What's the cost to park outside and walk in?

As far as I know, this is the last one of the year! Last year, I bailed on a wedding to go to Goodguys. This year though, it is my lil sister's wedding, so family comes first.

    Great idea Jim!
You had me fooled with your latest editorial. That is a mean and cruel thing to do and you should be whipped badly for it.

    JimA... I'm kinda confused.

So, it's 8 bux to park, and 12 per person general admission, right? If we bring our cars, we park in a different area regardless or is it extra and if so, how much? I tried finding that info on the web site, but I guess the online registration is done for now?

And about donating the money to Ryan, is that direct through paypal or is Good Guys handling it? Just 'cause If I'm gonna go, I'd rather Ryan have cash to keep HAMB going than it going to Good Guys (no offense intended).

Parking and entry is for general spectators, if you want to enter your car IN the event it's $25 for Goodguys members. For this you get your car and two weekend p***es and you can park in the "GARAGE GROWN" area- Yes, PLEASE send your donations directly to Ryan.

Anyway... we'll be hangin' out Wed. night... I'm bummed that we're going to miss GG in two weeks... but we're PALMDALE BOUND!!!

    Sam.

  22. Sammy- got a cover shoot tomorrow in Pleasanton (come by and see the new digs sometime!) but I'll come by tomorrow night after the sun goes down. 1 of 3? Sounds kinda dramatic- PLEASE let me see that thing! Gonna switch bodies soon on the Tudor!
P.S.- you ready to come work with us yet??? Everyone was askin' whatever happened to that Sam guy today. Thinkin' you might be perfect for a "How To" column. We are plannin' some big changes to the 'zine- don't tell nobody!

I am already prepaid for the DesMoines GG. I have had some set backs with time and money and haven't progressed much on the coupe so no driving to Iowa. I may have to find a way to trailer my trailer queen.

  24. So-Does this mean we are finally seperated from the"other" cars?Ill bet they're happy to see this development also.
I personally would not take advantage of goodguys offer to seperate us from the other cars........Id hate to start my car with lakes headers angled downwards and have it throw dustNdirt on a Hambers fine suede ride........and BESIDES what would I do with my sick fetish for watchin goldchainers waving their cali' featherdusters[TM] yelling obcenities at me as I drive off? [IMG]Yeah that would be wonderful of them guys. [IMG]

Well then, I very much look forward to you not being there [IMG] This is not an area for "at***udes", but somewhere for people who really dig traditional cars to ***emble and have a good time.

Nice work Jim, you are making an impact and a difference in the diversity and acceptance that I think Gary started out trying to accomplish. The companies growth has pulled him away from some of the issues but thanks to you, those goals are coming back into the picture (pun intended).

    see you in November.

  27. Oh SO an opinion is not something we should all have?
You think you're right-[I think Im right], in saying this will be appreciated by the majority of people who would NOT park in that area more than the ones who do.
You can sugar coat it all you want but at***udes are what has made our end of the automotive movement what it is.
I dont work for them so I can say what I like. [IMG] although I do not believe it will work out well in the end results -I do wish you good luck in your latest venture Jim.

First off, let me say that I think this is a great idea, and I'd like to thank Jim, Kirk, & GG for the work put into this.

But then a question rears its ugly head: How traditional does a Grarge Grown ride need to be? Obviously we can keep out the 39-inch billet rims & digital gauges, but... Are radials allowed? Alternators? Disc Brakes? Centerbolt heads on a SBC? (even with finned valve covers!?) Where does the line get drawn? There are going to be some gray areas, so who decides whether my car or yours gets in?

Jim, if you need some help at the Indy event e-mail me. I live on the west side of Indy and would be glad to help out on Sat. or Sun. Don't worry about a free p*** because I already have one from your promotions dept. [IMG] [IMG]

This is Great...! Hey Jim..., sorry I ranted over the "Good Guys" in the past and ruffled your feathers!!! [IMG]

But it does appear it was not all in vain and that you stepped up to the plate and helped ins***ute these changes. [IMG]

I'll be looking foreward to seeing you at a Future GG Event!
