GOODGUYS/H.A.M.B. MERGER...a match made in heaven?...

...not exactly...but how about a MATCH RACE?!!...Yep, It's official. The Goodguys have invited the Ramrods/Hornets Hamb Dragster Teams(HA/GRs) to Indy June 9th-11th at Indianapolis Raceway Park for a weekend of match race heaven. They just posted the news on their website. Seems all the 'Big Mags' really DO pay attention to what's goin' on 'round here, don't they? Fear not, the Hambster teams will not do anything to embarass the Hamb(we're NOT takin' 'Lil Mike with us) ...and we promise to play and race fairly... Check it out on their website at WWW.GOOD-GUYS.COM. Ya'll better be there to cheer us on, don'tcha know...

I also like the fact that they gave credit to the HAMB for them...

I mean, this could take off like gang busters if they get ahold of it... I don't know that they would want more than a handful racing at their west coast events. But once the cat is out of the bag, and people start wanting to build them when they see them in the Gazette, the phone calls start coming in to GG world headquarters... uh, it might get ugly.
Enter in a couple few real drag racers wanting to get into the action... and I guarantee it'll go somewhere you don't want it to.

I'm not poo-pooing you, or anyone on the HAMB's efforts to spread the "gospel"... it's the OTHER people I am worried about. Just be careful.

I had no plans of attending the GG Indy event this year even though it's just about in my backyard BUT if you guys will be there I guess I'll have to attend to cheer you on....and supply the cookies.

 

This is the SAME Goodguys that took away my internet privledges for ONE REASON- spending too much time on the HAMB. Also where I met KIRK! and brought him into the fold- go figure

...what I understand is that Meadors and crew roll into Tulsa each year for the Chili Bowl race event in Feb. While here, they check out the local shops to see what's new. They went to Bob Hindman's shop and saw the Hambster. Meadors claimed he never heard of these cars, nor the Hamb...(not sure I'm buyin' that part) but he really liked the idea and invited our 2 teams to Indy.

man, I wish I had been invited......oh, well. the crooked 6 wouldn't have been ready anyway. Good luck guys, and maybe this will open up a whole new arena for the ha/gr cars.

...I think the reason they didn't invite more cars is the lack of enough time at the event. They're only lettin' us have 3 runs all weekend. I'm thinkin' they're lookin' at this as a test to see if the crowds go for 'em.

 

I'll be there and make sure I get over to check you all out.

 

Then I will make it a point to find Gary that weekend and let him know exactly how much I enjoyed the "gruge" match and may I suggest others do the same.
