I've had slot of fun at the gg events but it is the most$ to get in and when it rains and they close the show they don't refund money or try to make it up anyway the the guys that brings there car or truck down. On top of it they put it next to the weekend of bowling green which a much better show all around!!! As far as the demo derby what's next a reality tv show that goes along with it?!

Lets face it the Indiana State Fairgrounds is in a BAD area. I attended a Dog Dock Diving event there with my Labrador Retriever. Why would anyone have a car show in the middle of the Hood? It doesn't make sense. BTW The NHRA Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green KY in my estimation is the best event there is. Goodguys Lawn Chair events are done.

I want to have an opinion!!! I gotta an ***hole, that makes me eligible, right?!?!?!? Awesome. I'm in! Here goes:

Goodguys is a business. They host car shows for money. The guy that owns the joint is named Gary. I don't know him at all. I've never met the man. I have good pals that say he is a good egg. I do know that he is living the American Dream - He profits from his hard work and his ingenuity. In return he employs people that probably couldn't be employed anywhere else (I'm looking at you Kirk) and gives the people that do enjoy his shows a return on their investment.

This ladies and gentlemen is called commerce. He adjusts his price and venue depending on demand. For quite a few years now, Gary has had pretty steady demand... and I'll bet that's because Gary and the people that he employs are reasonable folks that work to create a show that the most people possible will find enjoyable. In doing so, they create more profit.

See, it's mutually beneficial to society if Gary continues to work hard in an effort to employ more people, host more shows, and give more people a return on their investment.

Some of you argue that it's "all about the money." Well, ummm... of course it is. He has a big company to support and a lot of customers to give a return too. If it wasn't all about the money at this point, you wouldn't have a show to take your street rod too. And that would make the world a little less beautiful than it is today.

So... My advice... Straight out my ***... If you like great big car shows and Goodguys is your thing, go to their show. If you don't like such monstrosities or even if you simply don't like the venue that Gary and his crew picked, don't buy the ticket... don't take the ride...

    It. Really. Is. That. Simple.

This all sounds strikingly familiar, almost identical to the *****ing and moaning "car guys" did when NSRA decided it WAS NOT a pre-48 organization anymore...and yet, most of the guys that swore they'd never go to another NSRA event have...I knew a lot of them around this area and seen 'em with my own eyes, they folded-not the NSRA...!!!.

So, when all you guys quit *****ing and moaning about where the GoodGuy's are going to move the event to next, give it a year or two and I'd bet you'll be right back in the mix with the rest of us that NEVER quit going...you all sound like a bunch of old ladies sitting around the quilting bee *****ing about your worthless husbands.

That is the way I took it Kirk I don't know you & hope any comments I make are not taken as a personal attack at you or the Goodguys organization It is forumn & I'm giving my opinion on the new Indy show I do like the current shows & going to as many as I have I think it speaks for it self The count was down at Indy but it was a laid back show & saw many friends & just had a really good time Some people are really out of line with their attacks on Goodguys I'm sure you are tired of them but sometimes you wear your feelings on your sleeve yourself Thank you R

40 StudeDude, have you ever been to the Indianapolis Sate Fair Grounds? If not why are you posting Bull ****? Why should you have to pack heat to attend a car show?

  8. X2 - couldn't have said it better.

We are lucky enough to have a great G.G. event here in Des Moines (The Heartland Nationals) that I've always had a great time at it. These events are what you make them. If you go looking for something to ***** about - you'll find it. If you go looking to have a relaxed good time, you'll find that too.

Yes, I have...and HAVE been to IRP and the original site of GG's first few events...and WHY do you think I'm posting ********...??? And who the **** are you to question me...??? YOU don't KNOW me at all...!!! And this isn't about me...it's about GoodGuy's and their event.

I simply don't have an answer to your third question...!!! I've only been there in the summertime when the heat was provided by Mother nature and I used the A/C in my car...!!!

I was hoping to make it to the show at the speedway to see how it was but it looks like I am too late.

I'm not Goodguys so I don't take them personally. What I can't take is when people just say they don't like something because they think that's what people want to hear. I just want everyone to make decisions based on the truth, not rumor or peer pressure.

Really? It is a pale shadow of what it used to be because most here would rather ***** and whine (regardless of subject) than actually talk cars.

What would make me the joke? Getting on here to speak the truth instead of letting rumors start and become what people take as truth?

    It could give you lessons.

As far as this place being a joke, it never stopped you from using and abusing before did it?

With the HAMB, you get back what you put in. It's always been like that... And that's what is so magical about it.

    Spanky spanky.

Not sure how I have ever abused the HAMB, but ok. As far as putting in and getting back, I have always contributed FAR more than I have gotten back, but I have never mentioned it nor complained about that fact because I'm totally fine with it. I enjoy people digging what they see and read.

It's starts as "Goodguys ****s!" and turns to "The H.A.M.B. ****s" when some kind of a general consensus isn't met. And you know what? I'm fine with that... I lose. I ****. So does the HAMB.

Good work Kirk! Another battle won. You came out golden.

How about we get back to old cars now?
