You may have DRIVEN your old car to the event when you could have flown, but you got paid to be there. You don't know what hot rodding is about!

I'm a jerk! I drove five hours on my own gas money each way to work at a car show for money. I feel dirty.

    No passion according to PossumJR.

BTW, turn in your miles to get reimbursed for the gas - sellout!

Ha ha! What are those kind of people? People who are right? Or people who eat, sleep and breathe hot rods?

How about you follow me around for one day and see what passion for hot rods is all about.

for the most part those shows do not. There are some that do though.

Actually they make them a ton of fun... for the most part I wouldn't go to a GG event if it weren't for Kirk and the guys...

ahhh... someone's feelings are hurt. :p

Norwalk posted its 2011 season schedule and I notice the Gasser Reunion is not on it and as I mentioned before I wonder if they are going to combine the gasser show with the Blue Suede Cruise in July of next year? Lots of things going on around the show curcuit these days.

What many people fail to realize is that for a very long time, drag racing was an activity that people participated in, not just watched. In the days of old that we all covet so much on this board, you went to the drags and you raced... even if it was your parents car.

People complain about not having drag events, yet they just want to watch. Things would go better if more people didn't rely on everyone else to be the show. The Hot Rod Eliminator class is open to ANY car 10.50 and slower. I drove five hours, made five passes and worked my job, and drove home. I could have made even more passes, but I had to work. My car is not very expensive, or fast, but it did what it was supposed to do and I had a blast. The rail monkeys and fence crows can harp all they want, (if you race, I'm obviously not talking to you..) it's like being a keyboard tough guy. Get out there and race... it's fun.

Good Guys has gotten too big for their own pants. They will eventually suffer from turning their nose up to the very hot rod enthusiasts that helped build and support the sport. The last Good Guys event I went to had more trailer queens there than people who drove their cars to the show. They can go that direction if they want but by time they realize that they have hurt the hand that truly feeds them it will be too late. Good Riddance, Good Guys!!!!!!!:D

HEY guys, guess what someone else picked up the Blue Suede Cruise. (I know it has already been posted just trying to get back on track)

But I guess since GG dropped it and someone else picked it up the purpose of this thread has been lost. In that case... back to the soap opera that is the HAMB. lol

Sounds like the track is going to take it over again. Here is the link from Cruisin Times about the event.

Hope it works out and the crowds come out for all the differnet shows that are next year no matter who host what or where it is.
