If it were not a factory V8 car, I'd seriously consider it.

I have a ,'46-'48 100hp 239 engine in my stash in the barn. Hopefully a good candidate for a core. My Father had a '47 Super Deluxe convertible with a stock 100 horse 239 that I drove a lot. It went 60 no problem. Stroke a 239 out and put a T5 behind it and it'd be great fun.

  2. Hey, my dad also had a ‘47 super deluxe convertible. He sold it in Maryland in the ‘80s after owning it for about 25 years…

I'm running a 100 hp in my 34. Feels plenty good for the moment till I soup it up. I think the 239 is a great plan for sure. Looks like a stellar car to start with. Good find for sure.
Either a rear gear swap or the t5. The t5 makes them more drivable but the gear swap keeps the originality.

Sold my banger coupe to get a little more room... Everything starts from somewhere.

Something like adding the front oil fill and generator from a '62 221 small block?

I actually have one of those timing covers in my stash. I had forgotten about it until I read this.

I gotta get a couple mirrors for the doors. I used the back of the drivers side headlight as a mirror Sunday. How useful are those small mirrors?
