I would really like to know why these are always popular with the gasser era ? Was it the wheelbase or ?

Weight is a big consideration for drag cars. Not my cup of Tea for a street car and OK for a real Gasser. I thing any street car with a jacked up front end looks stupid.

In the days of the Gasser. Henry J bodies were among the lightest and cheapest bodies avaiable. They also had a full frame that was strong enough to handle some horsepower.

I’d say stick with what you know, the years you usually deal in.

But it’s probably because I don’t like Henry Js

I’m thinking that you would probably own it longer than you might like, possibly several years.

If an interior is clean and not all torn up or really ill fitting I can live with it, tweed or not.
I would just be glad to have one.:D

Thanks for the info. I am not a fan of them either.

I have two Henry J's for sale. One was started as a gasser, has tube chassis, narrowed nine inch and one
piece fiberglass front clip. Located in Las Vegas, Nv. must pick up. 5K for both, other is stock.

These aren't big-money cars. But to me, radiused wheel wells means it should be nose-up. Nose-down is a tubbed / pro street stance. Mixing the two can get real iffy, especially if you add in a tweed interior and turquoise paint. Might look really good but we don't have any pictures to judge. ;)
