Got a free Econoline SuperVan today, what year is it?

    I wonder what Shelby had in this Econoline?

    It is a 65-67. The 61-64 had a slanted steering column support/tray. The motor mounts will tell you something, too. If it's being held up by a tubular crossmember, then it's a 65-67. Before 65 the motor was held up by 2 sheet metal arms. If your carb is operated by a cable, then chances are that you have a 240, otherwise it's a 170. If you have a 240 (bolt on intake), then you have all the stuff you need to drop in a 250 or 300 I6, or a SBF v8. If you have a 170, then you'll have to do some parts sourcing, but you'll be way ahead of the game than someone who has a 61-64.

    Yes, all supervan/extended vans had rectangular lights, no matter what year. All the rest had round lights... 61-67.

    The only way to be sure of what year you have is to run the VIN.

    4 & 1/2 years later I now own the freebe Supervan!
    I was just pokin aroun the H.A.M.B. and found a pic of my van.

    i had a 67 (non hd) and it had the single master cylinder--same as the one in the 49-51 ford sedans!
