Just got word that my new model a is on her way to me, really excited about this one. I sold my 47 pickup this fall and have been looking for another A and I really like trucks and found this. It's a 29 so it would apprear that I am a 29 freak, as this makes 3 now. Only pics I have at the moment but i will post more when it gets here.
Plans are to get it running, make it safe to drive, hop up the banger and run some 35 wires with big and littles like I have on my coupe. I am looking for some wheels now. I want to use it as a truck so the body will remain untouched for awhile.
Looks like it has held up well. Shoot me a PM if and I can bring a pair of 35's to Kzoo with me. Your not that far away.
I hope it is at sins of steel, I am planning on bringing all three, the roadster, coupe and the truck. My wife wants to drive the truck, which I think is awesome. You just can't find any old Model A pickups in Michigan anymore, they are pretty much gone so I was stoked to get it. The previous owener, an older man has pics of it sitting on a hill at his childhood ranch in the 50's and he said he will give them to me. This pic shows why I sealed the deal.
Good score. If you ever decide to "hot rod" it look up some pictures of Jake's (as in Pete and Jakes) old phone booth PU and clone it. You won't be sorry. Frank
Thanks guys, really excited about this one because it has a lot less work to do than the roadster, which will still be first on the list but this truck can be made running and driving very easily. It has some dents in the back of the cab which I am going to try and fix before replacing any sheetmetal. She is rot free, gotta love how Cali weather treats old tin. This truck in Michigan would be a goner.
Holy ****! That's a beauty! I'd take out a second mortgage if I ever ran across something like that. And what you're planning on doing is sort of my dream. Please post pix.
