About a month ago I was at a small car show in Vista, CA. I had my 60 dodge parked next to an all original 37 buick. Some guy comes up and starts telling me he knows where to find one just like the buick locally and the price he mentioned seemed WAAAYY to good to be true, but I gave him my name and number any way. Well that after noon a woman calls me and says she heard I was interested in her car, I said yes got the address, turns out she only lived about 20 min away. I go to check it out expecting a pile but to my suprise there it is a painted and upholstered complete 1937 graham supercharged six. I ask the price and she say $1500. How can you pass a deal like that up? On the day I go to pick it up she says to me "get the rest of this stuff out of my garage with it" and points to a pile of parts, I take what I can and tell her I'll come back for the rest. When I go to get the rest she throws in a kennedy roller tool box full of tools, some power tools, a banjo steering wheel, a set of front fenders, a windsheild, and a grill shell as of yet unidentified, and also a couple of boxes of mg parts. I tried to give her a few hundred bucks for all the extra stuff but she refused. She told me she knew she could sell it for more but would rather give it to some one who will use it. It turns out it was her husbands project, sadly he passed away before he finished it and she has had it in her garage for over 20 years. Well she told me after seeing me pull up in the dodge she knew it was going to a good home. Plans so far are to get the 6 running, lower it, fill in a few holes, get some new tires, maybe lose the running boards, and give it a nice glossy black paint job.

    here's the pictures

Yeah we have those kinds of deals here too. (Only problem is that if you breathe too hard within 5 feet you will have just bought between 1000 and 4000 pounds of one inch rust chips)

Nice find, joebuick! What impresses me most, is the fact that you obviously showed respect to the kind lady, she picked up on that, and treated you right...a good experience for the both of you. (as opposed to a bad one) It's easy to see that you understand that two people lived their whole life together, the woman sharing the joy that her husband's hobby gave him. She's finally letting go of a very important part of her life, yet she was gracious about it. Someday, our wives may have to do the same. One more thought. I'm 52 years old, and I'm taking this as a lesson to get my cars done! Good luck and have fun with that unique ride joebuick. Rick

I'll try and get a picture soon but basicly the rod you see running under the generator has a pulley on one end that is driven by the fan belt. The other end goes into a box which has a 90 degree elbow inside and then goes straight up into the center.

Post some pics of the other stuff, I'm sure we can ID that grille. That Graham is a great looking car, I even like the color. Shouldn't take too much to get it on the road. Looks like the engine has been done already.

  20. Damn, if you tell me that was in Shadowridge (I recognize the apartments, I think)
    I'm gonna***** myself...
I lived in Escondido, and drove all though Vista/San Marcos/Bonsall and other outlying towns, looking for stuff like that...
GREAT score, man.I'd finish it, and drive it.

Cool, my dad had a similar one just before he went in the Army Air Corps in WWII.

He said his older brother knocked second gear out of it every time he drove it.

It's a neat car and deserves to be well treated.
