    It's in good company. ;)

Congrats on building a '32 coupe as well as has ever been built. And that's saying something!

  4. Larry, This is a question for you......Since you built this great looking hot rod, may I ask how it comes to have a ROLLING BONES skull on the radiator cap? I thought only cars the Bones built have them?
Just something I have wondered about all these years.

I contacted the Bones guys in Dec/o4 to build me a Bones chassis only...I wanted the rest of the car built locally so I could have a large part in designing every step of the build. I wanted the radiator cap also because if it's built with a Bones chassis, it's a Bones car...$400 later, I had my radiator cap.
I understand they don't do that anymore...they want to build the whole car.

  6. THANK'S for the information as I never knew you had them build the chassis for it.....

Bruce is a great friend, and I'm glad he has your car back.
    He wants mine too!

  8. @3wLarry - Really glad to hear that David Kelley sold your 3wd back to @Deuce Bruce Meyer!

I believe Kevin is referring to (television producer & writer) David E. Kelley.

David M. Kelley is the gentlemen that has owned Larry's coupe for the past 8 years ... and he actually lives here in the Bay Area in Menlo Park (over 100 miles west of Turlock) ... Mr. Kelley is a professor at Stanford University and the founder of Stanford's Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (aka, "d.school") ... As Larry stated, he is also the founder and CEO of the design company IDEO ... and was a close friend of the late Steve Jobs.

Now that we have that cleared up ... I wonder how long it will take for an Internet rumor to get started that Bruce Meyers (of Meyers Manx Dune Buggy fame) now owns Larry Roller's old Deuce 3wd Coupe ... ??? :D

That shot of the car in the rain is sinister, menacing, awesome. Are the A pillars leaned back? I don't know anything about the build.

Yup, (see italics in bold) That is who I initially thought it was based on the demographics, age & financial wherewithal of a 50-ish Male who occasionally attends Petersen Museum Functions & Gala's and most likely has crossed paths with Mr. Bruce Meyer, Hence I was educated again by the HAMB school of history and learned that Professor David Kelley of Stanford's "Hasso Plattner Institute of Design" was the past owner of the 3W Larry, Bruce Meyer, Professor David Kelley-Present Bruce Meyer 32 3W Rolling Bones Chassis'd Hammered Coupe. ;).

That is such a Bitchin Coupe!!!! I know that Bruce has given my 32 Roadster a thumbs up, Only would hope a guy with that level of appreciation would be eyeballing mine for purchase. :).

Nice to know we'll all be long gone and that car will still exist just as it is today.

Bruce also owns the Doyle Gammell coupe, which is displayed in the vault at the Petersen.

Yes, I forgot that he owned the Doyle Gammell coupe which Bauder restored for him. Here is that famous 3-window.

IMAG0352.jpg Here's your old coupe if I can figure out how to post from my phone. In line Thursday waiting to board the ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria. Lots of heavy hitters on board, If I may drop a few names besides Bruce, there was Roy Brizzio, Pete Chapouris, Vic Edelbrock, Ed McColough, Ed Pink, Danny Sullivan, John Mumford and many others I might not have recognized.

Couple of "classy guys", (Larry and Bruce) as well as the vehicle that got them together.
    Nice attitudes for sure.
Certainly never met either of you, but you both show great respect for the hobby, and each other.
    Pretty refreshing these days!

With absolutely no disrespect to Mr. Meyer....I've been wanting to shake Larry's hand for years. If Bruce were to be there also....bonus. A couple of real hot rodders for sure.

I saw Larry's 3W yesterday at the Art Center Car Classic in Pasadena. My first time viewing it in person. Just...WOW! It was positioned in the center of the event venue and surrounded by priceless original cars (30's Delage, 34 Voisin, 37 Cord, Porsche 959, BMW M1, 69 Lamborghini Miura, etc.) Larry's coupe easily stole the show.
