Picked up the body last night. Gettin the rolling ch***is tonight. It has a late model rear end, Ibeam straight axle with disks. It's a start.
Probably be sitting about six inches higher than it is. Might have a bed on it, but shooting for modified style roadster first.
The guy threw in headlight ***emblies, radiator, and 305 engine. Just need to get it all in one place and mock it up.
Thought about hiding a small fuel cell low in a very small bed maybe. I don't like the thought of a tin can full of fuel on my shoulder.
I think it's a dodge touring cut down to a two door. Don't think I'll be putting the horn on it - although I have one. I think I'll put it on when I mock it up to freak out my wife though.
if's it a dodge, keep it in the family and do a small hemi!!! a dodge in a dodge, now there's a thought!
Looks real nice . I can see a small bed behind it . Sounds like you have a great start . Keep us post on your progress . I think a straight 6 with a 2x2 set-up would really look sweet . Something different than the same SBC set up you see everyplace ! Just my 2 cents worth .
Yea, I know. I guess the thing is, this will be EXTREMELY low buget. I have a 305 given to me with the car, so that's what it will start with. If it's fun and I keep it, things will evolve and change I'm sure. Just trying not to think too far ahead of myself yet, I got a 50 Coupe roller that needs done too. Oh yea, i'm still married so far.
Got some mockup done this weekend. Don't know exactly what I'm doing with the suspension yet, but I am going to build a frame from scratch. Maybe four link rear.
Ok, here's all I got so far. The figuring takes the longest. I have A LOT of cleaning to do. I know, I don't have a frame jig or any room to work. I'm doing it the poor boy real way.
Great looking start. I love low buck projects. What are your plans for the rear wheel well indentations in the body? Are planning to mold them in?
Yea, sure am. Once I get the ch***is done and body mounted to the floor pan, I'll get the body all squared up and straightened out. Just can't wait to get to that point.
I believe you may be right. Just found this thread on the HAMB. He researched his to be a 1923 Willys model 91. The dash is unmistakable! And the holes around the firewall are the same too. Good catch, Thanks! This is probably the one I ended up with! VVV
