I enjoyed the pics; mine was like that when I bought it in '62. I'm trying to get it back together this year. your pics are great memories for me, Thanks.
I sold my first Std Coupe in the late 90's and regretted it from the beginning. I got my current 40 Std Coupe couple of years ago and am now at peace. Love them 40 Fords.
Glad to see your getting a second chance at an old flame. I would have had a real hard time letting it go knowing I'd never see it again but you've been blessed with a second chance. Frank
Very cool car and im glad you got it back...... for good.Glad to hear your plans of keeping it running a flattie.
Thanks! Yes I did trade it for the CA roadster, decided I'm not a roadster guy real quick. I sold the roadster after a few months and saw My coupe back up for sale and jumped on it! Thanks to all for the kind words and encouragement. The HAMB is the Best! And to those that like the 40 the way it is, you won't see much change, other than some mechanical changes, like a fresh Flathead with some mild hop up stuff, and fixing the hood and putting the trunk floor back in, its pretty much done! I love the paint and worked hard to get that stance it has now.
Prolly my favorite 40 coupe ever...Glad you were able to get it back...I can think of 3 I sold that wish I would have kept...You would think after making the mistake once I would not have done it the second or third time. I guess stupidity comes naturally for me...oh well. Cool car man....don't touch it.
Don't let it get away again. This is a classic and better than any stock you could purchase. Enjoy. Pewsplace.com
Rule #4...never sell your 40 ford coupe..it is written. I once sold my 57 Pontiac when the old 3 speed tranny broke...bought a 55 chevy hardtop but it just wasn't the same....one day I see my old Poncho driving down the street and swapped the 55 chevy for it that day...had a good used tranny in it.
If you had sold that car to me, no way you'd ever get it back, unless you waited for me to croak and bid on it at my estate auction. That's a Keeper-for-life. You're luckier than most of us. Frank C.
Glad you got her back - 40 Fords are just top-of-the-line cool cars. Here's mine, flattie/5-speed powered, and she is driven up and down the east coast.
I sold my '40 coupe in '68 before I went into the Army. Have kicked myself ever since. Looking on Craigslist today I may have found it! Same faded yellow, with chrome rims and baby moons. Women selling it says her dad has had it since the late '60s', but died last July, and she doesn't know where he got it. Worth a trip to LA to check it out.
