Good job on the Cookbook Zeke, Inkfink, and C9. Lot of good looking Recipes in there, especially considering the crowd that sent them in... Only complaint I have is that somebody put my Brisket Rub in "Odds and Ends" instead of with the BBQ. Farmerjohn, I was surprised to see the Frybread recipe.I have a cousin that makes and sells Indian Frybread at the County fair every year. She usually offers it with shredded pork, Shredded Mutton, or Honey and powdered Sugar. Sells 'em faster than she can make 'em.
Dammit!!! Sean if that's the only one I misplaced I'll be happy as well as surprised. I don't know how many times I went over that thing just to find something else that needed changed. The wife will edit the next one. Oh well, glad you like it man. Still glad you liked it and thanks for the recipes you sent in for it. I'm planning on making that fry bread recipe for my International and American Cuisine cl*** next week. I'm doing a persentation on Central plains foods so I figure I gotta do some injun chow seeing as that's about as American as you can get.
Watch "Jeremiah Johnson", with Robert Redford and check out the Secret Ingredient the Indian Gal puts in her Fry Bread...
Duh..... That being the key as we eat them. No different than how most of us eat "mexican food" Not really traditional Mex cuisine. It's the concept more than anything but I'm planning on hitting up granny for her recipe too. just to bounce them off one another.
Yeah Zeke, wasnt ragging. I found it funny last week with "Native American Day" in Sodak it isnt Columbus day like everyone else! So the local hospital served up "traditional" fry bread in honour of the Indians. You know, the same folk that as a population have one of the highest rates of diabetes in the world? That their own experts say that the cause of this is all the fried foods and poor diet of processed sugars that their ancestors did not have the geneology to digest this vile? I think the word is IRONY?
Same deal with a lot of Italian Foods. I have a Step-Grandfather thats pure Sicilian. What he calls Pizza is just thin sliced Tomatoes and some Basil baked on a Crust with a little Parmesan sprinkled over the top. Pizza Hut never would have made it if they made Pizzas like that.
