Today a couple buddies came over to try and get my engine running for my coupe. From what I know it's a '79 302 with a 351 cam in it. We found this out because the we had to change the firing order from 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 to 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. Anyway here 26 seconds of bliss for me. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/EPW3a1g75lM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> The rest of my build thread is here. It hasn't been updated in a while but it's been 3+ years to get to this point so i'm pretty excited. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=559037
Video does not work.. Looked at the other thread and looked good! Post some more pictures when you get a chance!
Great, I started mine for the first time in October it is a fantastic experience. One suggestion, fill the carb with gas thru the vents with an eyedropper and use an air cleaner. The backfire in your video could have been a lot worse.
Thanks, the air cleaner was set aside and we had an escape plan. The slowest guy would get trampled. We actually had discussed the worst case scenario and were prepared.
The first fire up is always fun..........scarey, but fun. Once you get the timing dialed in it should run fine. Don
We had problems with cyl 1 lifter being plugged. Once we had that cleaned and found the clip that sprung out we put everything back together. Timing is something I don't have a lot of experience with but that's why my buddies were here.
