Today a couple buddies came over to try and get my engine running for my coupe. From what I know it's a '79 302 with a 351 cam in it. We found this out because the we had to change the firing order from 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 to 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. Anyway here 26 seconds of bliss for me.

The rest of my build thread is here. It hasn't been updated in a while but it's been 3+ years to get to this point so i'm pretty excited.

Great, I started mine for the first time in October it is a fantastic experience. One suggestion, fill the carb with gas thru the vents with an eyedropper and use an air cleaner. The backfire in your video could have been a lot worse.

Thanks, the air cleaner was set aside and we had an escape plan. The slowest guy would get trampled. ;)
We actually had discussed the worst case scenario and were prepared.

The first fire up is always fun..........scarey, but fun. :D Once you get the timing dialed in it should run fine.

We had problems with cyl 1 lifter being plugged. Once we had that cleaned and found the clip that sprung out we put everything back together. Timing is something I don't have a lot of experience with but that's why my buddies were here.
