Was looking around.. looked at a 51 ford that i had posted about,

needs interior (door panels and all) .. and the brakes need fixed ..
has a 216 with 3spd both rebuilt .. and will have to find some bumpers..
not restoring to original .. going to get it running and driving good.. convert to 12v system.. maybe hei distributor.. and use as a daily driver..in the summer..

Smart move buying something running and freshly painted, always liked the lines on the 49-52 Fleetline.

Nice score, I seen that on Craigslist. Thought real hard about buying it. Glad it going to a good home. Good luck with the project.

Been slowly working on the chevy..
replaced all brake lines, hard and soft, rebuilt mastercylinder..
    all new wheel cylinders..
cleaned fuel tank, replaced all fuel lines and installed 2 fuel filters 1 at the tank and clear one before the carb..
converted to 12v rewired got all lights working, turn signals brake lights and reverse lights.
i know people will complain but got a set of Chevy rallies with tires for $100 bucks
so i could not pass them up..
found the bumpers for $100 not show quality but who cares.. I'm not building a show car, and its better than no bumpers..

Going over the bumpers with some SOS pads and some silver/chrome paint touch up, in just the rust spots with the paint on those bumpers will make them look a lot better for driver quality;)

    Thats what I do:)

I cant help but like ralleys in genral but they dont do that car justice, cheap or not,I like the black rims and the whitewalls better than those, on that car,and those high back bucket seats also take the car in the wrong (cheap looking)direction to me,If I didnt have the original seat, and that was all I had I would at least remove the headrest.

Sorry thats just my (hopefully not too harsh)opinion.
cragars, chrome reverse with no caps or rings, or painted smoothie reverse with caps and thin rings would look good on that car.

But again thats just me,I really do like your car,I hope I do not offend:eek:
Its yours, Do what you want;)

I agree. Great car. All it needs IMO is whites, steelies, and a chrome (at least metal colored ;) ) grille. Oh yeah.. and bench seats. Other than that its a good looking car.

You could keep the black steelies and shave those skinny whites to make em a bit wider... eh, eh?

no I'm not offended.. i welcome critasisum..
the buckets seats are in it because it had no seats at all when i got it..
i would love to find decent original seats for it but no luck so far..
and the rims i am still undecided on.. was thinking of painting them black and putting baby moons on them..may go back to the original steels..who knows
