Well I went to the Secretary of State (Michigan) to get my 34 Ford Truck ***le today. I bought the truck here in Michigan with no ***le. Went there expecting the worse, long lines, not having the right paper work, etc., and ended up leaving with a temporary ***le in hand. I've heard some of the horror stories from some of you other guys in different states, and was a little worried. It went pretty smooth. Had to wait about 45 min. for them to run the numbers through the national data base, but I'd say it was worth the wait. Now I just need to get to work and get it on the road. I almost laughed when the clerk asked if I wanted to get plates todays.
congrats.. ive run a few NY ***les thru michigan sec of state and no problem but they are getting way outta line price wise. if i ever do another scratch built ill have to find another way to ***le it.. A builders ***le aint all bad cept you have to have all the do***entation in order when you apply for one.. I have a friend thats done all his rides that way and he never seems to have a problem. The correct ***le **** is getting way outta hand and really is more about if the car is done right and worth the money when you go to sell one rather than it dont have a 32 or whatever ***le.. A ***le is just a piece of paper making you and the car legal Dave
I had to get an ***emblers ***le a few years back on my Harley and it was a real pain in the ***. I had to have reciepts for everything and had to have it inspected by a Sheriff and had to have everything "sent in" to be verified. I'm just glad I got it so I don't have to go through that again.
