The big problem is there are thousands of deals just like this every day in the USA. Scammers are out there is mass numbers just looking to get your hard earned dollars. The jails and prisons are maxed out with every type of thug there is so there not going to bust there ass looking for a petty crook. The very best you can do is stay on there ass and be presistant and if lucky you may get resultsAll of us hate these bastards and it makes it hard on the honest sellers.

Well I spoke with a guy that I went to school with, who supplied a "hook up" with a guy who works "Bunko" with Colunbus PD. He said, "don't quote me on this, but all of my time gets used up trying to work cases of local people getting scammed by face to face to face type crooks. All I got on this is an address of a vacant house and some body in California who says he's out a thousand bucks. These guys know that if all we got is one victim out a thousand bucks then he ain't top priority. Working through the internet these thugs can scam a hundred folks in a hundred jurisdictions and still have no one really looking for them. When they do finally get caught they will have enough money to hire a good lawyer and get probation. And if any one ever catches them it will most likely be on one count of a thousand dollars."
Wish I could help you more, but that's all I got.

Somebody on here might have seen/or may see this Impala around and let you know where it is. The color, rims and the exhaust tips make this car easy to I.D.. Good Luck.

Ok now you really want to get this guy you hit craigslist and gather as many people who have been scammed by this guy as you can. Total the cash stolen from all, then call the feds. They don't want to play then notify them and your local police chief/sheriff that it is going out on the news that they are letting these criminals get away with it. Local political type cops love being on the news for re-election stuff like nailing a bad guy.. not so much that they are letting them get away with shit.

is it ok when a world famous old drag race screws people and has been doin it for years

  11. This is quite common on evilBay. They hijack a completed auction, relist it with their particulars and have it up for some retardedly low price. Of course someone always jumps at it.

If the stuff is sent to a abandoned house. Then how did they know to be there to sign for it when the letter carrier showed up? They eaither stake the place out and intersect the letter carrier. Or they live close by and know what time the mail shows up or can see the house from thiers. Then go sit on the porch or pretend to be neighborly. With as many scams as apperently have been pulled i would be checking to see if the same address has been used and if a forwarding address is used on that one. Then figure that they have to be around to get the checks whereever the checks show up.

While it might not be good advise or a good idea, I would track them down and kick his ass then have ny wife whoop her ass. Hell I'ld end up spending $5000.00 to settle a $1000.00 grudge and that's not counting the lawyer fees, fines and income lost due to jail time.... Hmmm... thats probablly why I don't buy shit without a backup plan ( like paying with paypal ) I HOPE YOU GET THE SATISIFACTION OF THEM GOING DOWN FOR THAT SHIT it might make you feel like you did a $1000.00 community service!

It is possible to catch this guy. He's using one or maybe several empty properties to collect the registered mail. Some folks have asked how he knows when the mail man turms up, well for a given street its always in a given time frame and if he has to go there everyday for a few days til the mail man turns up, its worth it for a $1000.
So to catch him, get everyone to look out for his next advert, then set him up. A couple of Hambers could be there waiting for him when he turns up. Make a citizens arrest and call the cops. No beatings or violence necessary.

Using Pay-pal as a back-up plan is not much of a plan. There is a ( FAKE ) Pay-Pal site and E-bay site the scammers use now. Best plan is to have what you are buying right in front of you and when you pay you take it with you.

A good friend advertised a Top Sportsman motor in National Dragster and received a call from Chicago. The guy was interested but wanted to think about it. he called a few days later and had decided to purchase the engine, a deposit of 9K was agreed on and 2checks at 7.5K each was balance due and were to given to the truck driver on delivery. Certified checks. My buddy got the deposit check the next day and shipped the engine. A week later he got the other two certified checks from the shipping company. He deposited the checks and the following week the bank told him the checks were fruadulent checks and the bank they were isuued by was non-existant.
He turned it over to the FBI, they investigated the warehouse address in Chicago and told him it was an empty building. What they found out is that 3 men put down a deposit to lease the warehouse, they then went thru the National Dragster - it was at the end of the season and all the proteams were selling thier used equipment - and bought everything in sight and had it timed to reach the warehouse within a few days. They had a computor set up to print the bogus certified checks - and they were very authentic looking. In that week they got lencos, funnycar engines, prostock engines, promod engines, tons of parts etc. They stole so much that for months the National Dragster had a huge warning at the beginning of thier classified section, it was supposedly millions in parts.
    They never got caught.

Excuse me? Everyone? C'mon man. Being bitter is one thing, but this crack at all of US is another. I would appreciate an apology for that. Seems to me it is the same as saying that " all germans are nazi racists " when IN FACT, they are NOT. Should think your bitterness through a bit my friend.

That is basically my plan because a person on this site (I won't call him a HAMBer eventhough he is on this site) screwed me out of $2500 for work NOT performed. I feel really stupid because another person on this website recommended the scrumbag that was supposed to do the work.

My brother-in-law got hassled by the IRS because to get out of a job that was going all wrong that he sold the customer the engine at cost. During an audit they said he couldnt do that and marked it up and took their cut.

Anyone who thinks they can buy that for $8500 bucks needs to be locked-up. Probably just the chrome is worth that

I've been following this one and agree whole hearted with choptvan, especially as I live in AL and would be at the top of the 'all' list. I have not posted my thoughts on this whole affair and the one mentioned in CO because the answer should be obvious. NEVER deal with people you can't eyeball, and even then count your fingers after you shake hands on a deal. I say this because, when I lived in SOCAL I had to sit on a Federal Grand Jury for about ten months listening to a laundry list of 'white collar' crimes --- in addition to various scams people run, there were a lot other crimes too numerous to mention, but I came away from that experience wise to how far people will go to get other people's money. Most of the violations came as the result of the violation of laws governing Interstate Commerce ( anything that involves the U.S. Mail, a telephone line, or the internet and involves crossing state lines). And, this includes banking. For all the talk about getting the Feds involved keep in mind that even if they do, and catch and convict the person, or persons who have committed the crime, odds are very, very long the money lost will be recovered. Law Enforcement is not about getting back a person's property: it is about punishing the criminal. That is their top priority. That said, revenge even if best eaten cold as an old saying goes, does tend to help fill up the emptiness created by being violated by another person in a criminal fashion no matter what the crime. My advice is to disregard those who think physical violence will solve the problem. The sure and certain knowledge that the perpetrator has been cuffed and incarcerated and is put upon by the courts is the way to go. Law enforcement is paid as a go-between, to take risks and do the job. Stay on the phone. Write letters. Send emails. Involve people at State and Federal levels. Call, write, email the Federal District Attorney in both the district you live in, as well in Alabama. Ditto for your Congressman. Always keep in mind that 'The Squeaky Wheel Gets The Grease.'

I'll bet the guilty party has already been incarcerated and back at his game. The right a$$ whipping will take that scamming out of him, every time he reaches for his crutches.
