I blew a head gasket almost a month ago on the 312 in the coupe. While I had the heads off, I decided to go ahead and have them rebuilt. The exhaust seats were all sunk up into the heads, had some burnt valves, and the valve guides were worn. They got magnafluxed, surfaced, new bronze guides, hardened seats, all new valves, and they machined them for the late model good oil seals around the valves. My brothers and I worked on it Saturday night and fired it back up about midnight. It seems to be running good, the carbs also got rebuilt and they need to be tuned some more. Now I just need to get a couple of pieces back from the chrome shop, and I can drive it again!
