  2. i work for yrc which is yellow roadway we have scales on the forklifts and a floor scale not sure about your area but call ahead to see or measure it and they might charge by the cube could be cheaper that way and you can buy insurense if you ask about a deck trailer they will give you load bars and plywood to use the room you need pack it in the front of the trailer and ask that it not to be moved you load it your self and where it is going the custermor unloads it and drop off at the the term and pickup at the term could save money good luck any trucking should be able to work it this way

I have used Forward Air in the past to ship from Cali to Michigan. $450 to $600 both were truck cabs.

Sold a '32 cab to a Hamber. Shipped it from ND to Ca for about $450 via Roadway. They were also nice enough to stick a forklift tooth through the drivers door.

I've heard nothing but horror stories about shipping bodies by truck! I had a guy call looking for 32/34 PU doors as both of his were distroyed by fork lift teeth!

  6. seems like a good price, I'll have to keep that in mind!

  7. Don't do it! Too much nice shit gets ruined by jackass shipping/freight companies that couldn't care less about what they are hauling. Thats if it doesn't get stranded on some loading dock about 1/2 way there for 3 or 4 weeks.

Typical quote - "Vintage tin or Vaseline, I really don't give a shit"... It ain't my stuff!

Get a HAMBer from the Rol-O-Dex to quote you a price and haul it for you.

    or

    Set up a HAMB relay

How much is your time/hassle worth? How much is body work anymore? At $100 per hour, how many hours to straighten out a fork lift mark or it being racked from a load that shifted into it?

X2 on using the Hambodex. I use BenD and racin man, great service and reasonable. I shipped a '32 cab by greyhound. Un bolted it,very easy and shipped the parts separately................$325 total a few years ago. Freight companies use ANIMALS.
