Ok, I think this thread needs a different attitude.
The guy paid the shop $15,000/month which is about $95/hour.
Is this not what the high end shops get in California?
You bring your car to them and they tell you they get $95/hour and you are going to argue when you get the bill at that rate?

I say both these cars will sell for around what they are asking for them.
    Why?
Because if someone brought thier car to California shop for the same amount of work it will cost them MORE than what these guys are asking for these cars.
Want to have Boyd build you a car?
He won't talk to you unless you have AT LEAST $200,000 to START with!
    Expect to pay more.

It sure is a lot of money, but there are a lot of people with it who spend it on cars like this.

One of the reason I like the HAMB is because people here like to build cars themselves.
A HAMBer with $40,000 to spend would buy a piece of shit body or two and build a car everyone would ask when they were going to paint, maybe two or three cars.
Perhaps a HAMBer could build a car with the same build quality and finish as one of these cars for the $40,000.
They would have to have the talent, equipment, and time to do it with.
How many here have all three?
    I am sure some do.
Are you going to sell that car for $50,000?
Sorry people, but the truth of the matter is that expensive hot rods are EXPENSIVE!
Wail on about the cost all you want, but don't expect these guys to sell either of these cars cheap.

    regards,
    DJ

So-Cal $100.00 per hour and a minimum of 1,000 hours to build a car that is out of the horses mouth.

No shit, right?? Last I checked it took less than two to get into a 6 speed Tremec. And the crate 383 runs about what, 6K??

What I really like though....a THREE HUNDRED SIXTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLAR build, and it's got flipped white letter tires on it???? Gimmie a break.
