I bought a Granada rearend that was a 8" with drums and fit perfect on my fendered 30 Model A coupe. Food for thought.

I've got the same rear end. When I checked NAPA 5 years ago, they were already discontinuing parts for those disc brakes, and they wouldn't have cleared my frame anyway.
I put a wilwood kit w/a parking brake on there.

  4. There were 3 rear ends in Monarchs and Granadas. The 7.5 that is Dana style. The 8" and the 9". All the 9's I've seen use the 2 7/8" small bearing at the wheel. They are also the Galaxie large tube 3 1/4" square tube housing. You have something I haven't seen. There are several suppliers for either drum or disc brakes depending on the bearing size. Please double check the size of the axle bearing.

Ok guy's i think i have this rear end problem solved. Today i did what Drive Em said and cut the bearing and bracket off the axle, tried to press it off with NO luck had a 20 ton press on it and didn't budge,GOT OUT THE TORCHES and cut them off. I was looking in a speedway mag and thought the drum's and backing plate's would work NO LUCK. Called Cory P&J and Cory set me up with backing plate's drum's cylinder's shoe's the work's for $325.00 They are 11" but at this point i really don't care. Will look better than disc on an open wheel HOT ROD. Thank's for everyone's imput on this especially Drive EM. Thank's again. THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN THE H.A.M.B...........PINCHER

57 used small bearing on all but the Wagons and Ranchero, which had big bearings.

LOOK UP ebc brakes, at www.ebcbrakes.com or you can call them for a toll free order 1-888-251-1214 He is supposed to have all the parts at reasonable prices at least I hope he does cuz I also have a disc brake rear end for a future project. I got this info from a shop that rebuilds all ford rearends here in colorado.

  11. ...i know that thread is several years old... any news? How did it fit / work?
I´m thinking about the same issue...have the same rearend, mine is complete with all the brake stuff. But i´ve read some concerns about the ebrake, so i consider to swap to drums for my '56 Ford Truck.
