Not super rare, I have a set, and have a 3x2 intake...and i'm looking for another matching set for my twins. Wanna sell?
Not mine, my buddy just picked up a car that had the setup on the merc engine. He was led to believe they were pretty rare.
Phil I have Andy Granitelli's book at home; he and his bros started Grancor, great read, I can drop it off for you if you want it.
These pieces are pretty rare. Are these aluminum or cast iron. The cast iron Grancor parts are very rare, kind of like the Rocket cast iron parts. I have only seen two sets ever! How are the bottom of the heads?
Phil, I don't know how rare they are, but I've got a freshly rebuilt flathead that needs an intake!! The matching heads would look nice on there too! hehe Is he gonna keep them?
I just bolted these on a few weeks ago: Also check this out: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=274099
those are pretty cool looking, kinda interested in knowing how they compare to the other major brands as well?
The heads are aluminum and the motor spun over freely and looked pretty good, he's going to have the motor redone by Westfalls machine shop. Sorry guys he's pretty amped up about keeping them.
This is the car it came out of, susposed to have been built in the early 50's, he just brought it back from Michigan.
He was told by a Ford collector in the area that they were very rare, this guy has loads of heads, all the common speed names, but said he had only one set of those heads. This same guy is susposed to be having a huge auction coming up, a true collector of rare ford. He has hundreds of flatheads and speed equiptment up for grabs plus the rare muscle stuff, Taska mustang, side oilers, boss 429's just loads of stuff. This is the business link http://www.manta.com/coms2/dnbcompany_c0qpm5 not sure about the auction dates.
I know a lot of early manufactures of speed equipment had other people make them and put their brand name on them. I believe that Edelbrock did make the Grancor heads and intakes. The Grancor dual carb picture is a spitting image of the Edelbrock Super Dual.......... IMHO
