yes I have it looks awesome to me i kinda want to just keep chalking on the car like they did out at the lakes. My grandpa told me he used chalk to draw on the car that way when they left the lakes he just wiped it off to hide the fact that it was a real runner. We have to remember the cops didn't like being out ran and it wasent a good idea to have a big ol number painted on the side. Hide and go seek or kat and mouse cops and racers, you no the deal.

Not sure what John Swanders name is here on the hamb but krylon32 can hook you up with him and he has a cool real deal roadster and I am sure he would give you some photos. Great guy from the KC area.

No problem...You will get a second wind and get after it.......all great work takes time and thought.

  12. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Local guy helped me out today. Got two more 15" wheels and a nice 32 steering box no steering shaft or worm gear or bearings. But the sector shaft and three hole flange is in mint shape. So now with the box and shafts I got from hotcoupe here on the hamb I will be able to build a nice box with my 34 gears. Gonna make 3 boxes into one nice one. Pretty happy about that so today it's steering day. I already forgot about the body it's bolted down so it's not going anywhere.

  13. image.jpg Well I guess I'm not putting 34 gears in now. Took apart my 34 box and the sector shaft has a crack in it. And since I have kids not gonna take that chance... So back to 32 gears for now till I find a 34 sector shaft. It's stamped Argentina on it too.

  14. I could weld it and throw it in my lathe but nah....

  15. It maybe a surface crack thats been that way since '35. But why chance it. The way this is coming together, a good one will turn up. Probobly quite quickl

those look like 47/8 16" wheels with the original factory pinstripes, never seen 15" wheels with those original stripes
nice score on the roadster body by the way

710.15s wrapped on Cornell deluxe tires. I love learning new things everyday of this build. The tires still hold air. So like they say run them till they pop huh...

  18. I belive merc ran 15s and ford ran 16s. The guy I got these from has a set of merc reversed 15s just like I have on the back of my 53 kustom Packard. It came with no motor or trans so I had a nice little 351cleveland and a c6 with a wide five ford 48 pickup rearend. I it's got 670-15 firestone white walls bias plys pie crusts on it. Looks bitchinnnn.

Any pics of the Packard? Not to derail your thread, but I'm working on a '55 and Packard customs seem to be pretty thin on the ground.

  21. The pack attack is in her winter tarp house. I put a 46 olds grill 54 Buick canted headlights 54 chevy tail lights. Lowering blocks in rear and heated the springs in front. I chopped it 5 inches and completely rebuilt the hole dash everything works rewired it. It's a work in progress that I will finish after the roadster. The roof will match the dash tangerine candy with lots of ice pearl. The bottom will be Aztec gold that I have hidden away. Its original metal flake corp. acrylic lacquer. Got a few gallons. You can see the reversed rear wheel it looks deep dish but is still a 4" wide rim. Damn I guess I should of at least wiped it off first huh? All paint is lacquer on the car that iv sprayed. Sad thing is that's the first time in about 3 years iv even looked under the tarp... image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

  22. image.jpg Does anybody got this spring I need one. Mines broken . Or where can I get one?? Gas pedal spring

  24. Got roadster????????

  25. I really like kustoms that nobody builds. My Packard fools everyone. When I had my shop everyone would say man that's a badass chevy what is it 53 or 54 and I would say it's not a chevy. I guess the 54 chevy tail lights makes em think. Then I would say hey you ever seen a chevy with a drawer for a glove box. That's right a drawer not a flip down glove box door but a pull out drawer. Plus the pack attack is like a foot foot and half longer than a chevy. A Packard was a rich mans chevy.......

  26. Thanks for that info. I need one too. I just ordered it and a few other parts from them.
