I don't suppose you could post a pic of the K member could you? I need to fabricate one and your looks just about right.

  3. Here ya go dumprat. It's set up for a 36 ford mount. I'm gonna cut of the mount area and still run the stock 32 trans mount. I'm gonna fab up a top bolts in section so if I ever need to I just just pull the trans out with motor still in. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Cool thanks. I assume that piece with the ball mount is factory 36? Just to give me an idea what to look at.

No that is a bone stock 32 k member with the top half cut off. With a stock 32 k member you have to pull the motor out to get the transmission out because the way it was designed. So the guys that were racing them and blowing up transmissions got tired of having to pull the motor out to get the trans out so they started to cut the top off of k member and making new ways to mount the transmission. The 36 mount is probably the easiest. The way mine was done I can pull the transmission out from the inside of the car and the motor would stay bolted in. In these pictures you can see the top of k member and how easy it is to cut the top off and fab up new trans mounts. And the 32 mount bolts in in back of trans and 4 bolts to the k member

Does your Grandpa have any scars on the underside of his arms? Where his doors took a nip out of him?

  8. Got the steering in and front shocks on. Putting the motor back in now and knock out a few more things before it's on the trailer and we heading to la roadster show. Still just mock up motor. image.jpg image.jpg

  9. image.jpg image.jpg Motors in looks good with the 32 crossmember. I guess you can't run a double pulley on the crankshaft without cutting the crossmember so had to pull that off real quick.

Yup, pretty tight in there... Single pulley only.. It's looking good. I see my belt hitting those OEM 32 mounts o_O.

  12. Tried to put the Packard 440 wire on but I had to order new wire end crimp ends that fit into caps.:(

  13. You'll need to grind relief notches in the 32 motor mounts - or the belt will drag on them and get chewed up. Just wanted yah to know! LOL

Yup, I see that, I'll get on that over the next week. Don't want to ruin this belt, glad I took the pic to show Bruce.

Can't wait till you cut those mounts off the water pumps!
And even with the wrong wire that thing looks good.

  17. Here is about what they should look like when done - though the driver's side is modified for a timing pointer. I shaved the motor mounts off the pumps as well - looks a heck of a lot better that way:

  28. image.jpg Left the show today and headed over to my grandpas house. He was so thrilled. It was priceless. He was telling my buddy and I about how the cops would harass them and give him tickets for his headlights being to low or his mufflers were to loud or speeding tickets . He called them waffle butts. Lol image.jpg image.jpg
