I have a grant steering wheel and I want to put it on my 55 Dodge Coronet. Grant doesn't make an adapter for that year does any one know if another company does? I just want to konw before I cut up my original steering wheel to use as an adapter. Bob
I had the same problem with a Grant steering wheel that I was trying to put in car of mine ('79 Ford Fiesta autocross car..not trad, I know)...Grant didn't make an adapter specifically for it. I ended up taking my old steering wheel into Autozone and finding an adapter with the same size splines as my old wheel, and then stripping off the cruise control wires, horn wires, etc that I didn't need. I think I ended up using one for a mid-'80's Honda or Toyota or something. Not sure of your proximity to any place that sells Grant stuff, but it might be worth a shot.
The Summit catalog shows a Chrysler 36 spline 11/16" Quick Release steering hub. It also shows a Chevy 36 spline 11/16" Quick Release steering hub. They are different part numbers, but I am wondering if a Chevy 36 spline x 11/16" might fit your car. The difference could be something as simple as one being longer than the other. Splines are made to an industry standard for the most part so it makes sense that the same spline count and size would interchange. Got a bud with a Chevy wheel or adapter you could try?
