Interchange books are nice to have..This one covers ,depending on the parts, early 40's to mid 60's the good years....They only pictures in the book are in the grill section and in the auto transmission section...

So the GM term for Dagmars is "guards" — I was hoping for something more descriptive and entertaining!
Thanks rudestude for posting all this neat stuff.

I have more... I will post when my hands are not shaking so much..... Something's it helps to have a shaky hand....Taking pictures is not one of them......My hand stopped shaking long enough to take this picture to day.. Rubbed out a spot on my 1927 Buick, it was parked in 1957 when original owner died, looks pretty good for 90 year old original paint...Now if I can get that old guy with the camera rubbed out of it ........[IMG][IMG]

In case of hysteric off topic alarm:
If you don't understand the relationships between automotive design, hot rods and the design of household utensils you are off topic and not the post.

....That's cool .....My parent's had a 69 Barracuda when I was young root beer brown when they would wash it my brother and myself and our little sis would have fun looking at our selves on the side of the car it was just like the fun house mirrors...In the past 20's 30's and 40's everything was designed with style ,class, no matter what it was low priced , high priced items it didn't matter my favorite is the Art-deco period the cars the buildings ,house hold items appliances clothing transportation, ships, trains ,everything had style and class nice flowing lines every thing looked like it was in motion even standing still......Hell If I was a Rat Rodder, I'm not, these old vacuums could be used for....?? Something...They look cool maybe rat bike, saddle bags....Anyway your right about everything being with design that's why I found humor in the post, everting starts with an idea, a design in the mind, no matter if its for hot rod ,house hold, etc...And being odd and off the wall or what ever was on me for going and digging in trash to retrieve something just for a giggle......And no that's not a fat or skinny or whatever mirror it's shiny old Duco paint on a Buick......And it didn't make me look fat... I am fat...(humor) my doctor just told me that today...Ok nuff of that...You all are coming up with some cool stuff to post... I still find that cool how that Buick ad has the same image in the paint as my Buick....It's got me looking threw all my old Buick ads haven't found one yet with it..........Just funnin .... I'm not that Stu"::"" ODD....Or am I..?[IMG][IMG]

  19. Like the "Body By Fisher" tag in the lower front corner of the cowl panel. Hadn't noticed them in that location before.

  20. I had to look twice, but you are right. A bit unusual to see a woman behind the wheel in these early ads. Must have been a pretty "modern" woman for the times... ;)

Stefan, Louise lived the last years of her life, and they were more than a few, right here in Rochester, NY! She was a very private woman with little fanfare about her previous life. She was involved with the Eastman House, the home of Kodak founder George Eastman, and its extensive involvement in collecting and preserving old films. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Eastman_Museum for a little history.
