hi .i had a quick question.does anybody know how to get more pictures of a 1923 gray motor corporation coach or sedan ? i know what i bought is'nt the 1924 model because i found a few pictures of those .It does however look just like the 1923 version . but i've only found 2 pictures one coach and one sedan .it is impossible to be 100% sure by these drawings .right now the body of my new car looks just like this rare picture of a 1923 gray coach .But it's hard to make comepletly sure unless i can get more pictures.i will post what i have but i need more of this year only please or who i would contact..thanks(dodge coupe
Dont know if you have these or exactly what year they are, but did a quick google search and came up with this link; http://www.ebay.com/itm/1922-1923-Gray-Automobile-Brochure-/290562258749#vi-desc hope it helps a little. here is a bump too.
thanks. i didnt have those exact ones .i wish i could go back in time and look real good at that 1923 coach .because i think thats what i have ?It has since been hotrodded out and has 32 ford rails under it and mustang 2 front steering and a small block chevy .and is impossible to identify from the internet pictures available .Heres one thing, it has 2 doors but theback side of the door post has a latch like to catch a previous door like suicide you know .but maybe the double sided latches from sedans were used on the coaches because thats the parts they had?and why make new latches if you have a thousand of the sedan ones?Well anyway i have wondered how much it really matters how rare this car is since it's all ready been cut on and rodded out .i will post pictures of my unknown coach real soon .just have'nt had a chance to get out there yet.thanks
Is the Gray Dort the Canadian version the Gray? I did find a photo of a 1923: You can see the major difference: the wheels. Wooden spokes on the 1921 and what appear to be steel wheels in the 1923 photo. Here is another picture, of a 1923 Gray Dort, that shows the very distinctive shape of the edge of the fenders, easily seen in my original photo.
hey thanks for the pictures .that is a great one of the 1923 gray dort .I dont know how the whole gray and gray dort thing worked .i just know grat teemed up with dort and then they split and i know that gray was a manager at ford and then went his way to make his own stuff that looked like fords. but eventually didnt get enough backing of money after 1926 .so that 23 gray dort in the picture is really rare.like it might be the only one of its model and year left? i love stuff like that thanks

http://www.coachbuilt.com/bui/g/gray/gray.htm History of Gray-Dort. Dosen't seem connected to the Gray you are searching.
Gray-Dort was a Canadian car company that started with the partnering with Dort Motor Company in Flint Mi. Gray (not related or ***ociated to Gray in the U.S.) was originally a carriage maker and then built bodies for Ford of Canada. Gray then went searching for a supplier to make cars in Chatham, Ontario, Canada and partnered with Dort Motors. When Dallas Dort the owner of Dort Motors decided to quit the business......Gray went looking for another supplier and did in fact end up getting interest from Gray Motors in the U.S. but Gray Motors failed and closed which caused the end of Gray-Dort Motors as well.
