Hot Rods Grease

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Donald N Wemple Jr., Jul 13, 2022.

  1. Hi, went today to my local NAPA to get a few cartridges of chassis grease to lube the ball joint cup on a Ford Transmission. They have been out of it and cannot get any and said they are not having luck getting certain air filters for customers either. Supply issues? Anybody else having this problem.

I brought a case at tractor supply not long ago. They were out of 2 of the different grades but had the other grades plus the one I wanted. They had signs up saying it was supply issue on the 2 that were out with no date when they will return. Was only going to be a couple of tubes but when I saw that and they had mine, I decided to buy the case instead especially thinking how different things are going up so fast lately.

  3. I was shocked at this. There looks like no rime or reason for certain items to be gone. I will try at other stores tomorrow to see if I can find a tube of it. A national chain like NAPA boggles my mind to not be able to get a shipment of chassis grease. I had 1/2 a tube of grease I shoved into the ball socket and reassembled the clam shells thinking no problem getting more. See where I need a full tube for proper lubrication. I wrote a buddy in Cincy to see if they have the same problem. We need to get back to where we were on this.

I've got a bunch of chassis Grease no problem but wheel bearing Grease I had to look at four different stores to get it I had to settle for red color. No one can get regular black grease or yellowish color

  12. Thank I have corn head grease. Did not know if it was suitable for clam shell. Used it in the steering box for the racer and also steering box on the 21 Dodge Touring. Have 2 tubes of marine grease for the water pump lube but I had to get it in Texas last year while on vacation so saving that. TSA loves me bringing stuff home in my luggage. They x rayed a Bosch Blue coil in my bags and thought they got a live one.
