"To clip or not to clip, that is the question. Wether tis nobler to endure the ride of a straight axle or..." there you go, Electrodude.
Just one question. Did it come with all the old plumbing tools etc.. I could come over and start work straight away... lol .
I know how. Raise the front end up a couple of inches, throw in a V8 (your choice), set of mags and cheater slicks, and beat on it like a dirty rug.
Thanks for sharing. That's one that should stay just the way it is, on the outside. Underneath I'd go for some modern running gear and suspension and drive the wheels off it. Frank
wow!!!! you guys from the cape are cutting edge....never a dull moment....what was all that talk about bard at the start of this post....good job Pete, keep up the good work
As for the bard find i screwed up typing as usuall will find out what dealer he did get the original ***le with the truck.
Resto rod is what i would do,especially as it is a little piece of history and many of his old customers are probably still around. Many would remember the truck . If you wanted to build some sort of billet monster,g***er,mod truck, low rider etc ,this aint the car to use.
"only 13 years?" Thats a damn good run for a commercial vehicle... Your lucky to get that kinda service now.... I just sent my 96 F150 down the road. Last year for wing windows, twin I beam, and the 300 inline 6. I seriously doubt it'll be around 45 yrs. from now. Great find!
I'd have to say that's a pretty cool find. I now can tell everybody with complete honesty what a thrill it is to stumble upon something like this, a really cool old ride. I can also tell you from experience that when you tell folks about something you found, you'd better have some thick skin too. How about some more pics?
That is some of the best sign painting I've seen on a vehicle. Really neat truck, I don't think I could update it at all, just get it back into running condition and enjoy driving it around.
Or, more specifically, just north of Red Hook, first college on your left, right alongside the Hudson. If you reach Tivoli, you've gone too far.
Damn, I'm hanging out in all the wrong barns! Great find. To quote the bard on Hamlet's barn find, "Alas, poor Buick, I drove it well."
Great find! The lettering is neat. I would however loose the pipe rack bolted to the drivers side fender. Those things hurt when you you're not paying attention and run into them! Kinda like trailer hitches on the shins.
Please excuse the squishing sounds. Its the tears overflowing my keyboard. Just the ultimate case of someone elses reality and my dreams. Super nice score.
