With more and more cities and states trying to get $$$ out of us speed traps have become a cash cow for them This site will help you avoid that mess http://www.speedtrap.org/ I looked it up in my own area and the info has it nailed,as I have seen cops hiding in these nooks and crannies.
Cool site, and very acurate for the small towns around me. Everyplace there is a cop on the website, I have seen a cop.
Something else to think about is the use of FOG LIGHTS in traffic. In Oregon they are illegal to use and are considered to be 'Bright Lights' and have to be used in the same manner as bright lights.... meaning they need to be turned off if approaching traffic is 500 feet or less and you are following another vehicle within 350 feet. Trouble is many do not know of this law. The fines are from $75 to $500!!!!!! Also it gives reason for stopping and issuing DUIL to drunk drivers and other traffic offenses. Check out your local laws with this.... It is another 'Cash Cow' for the police.
I have seen that link a few years ago . That link is old ! I check my town and saw the same post for a speed trap and is the same information from 3 tears ago . The place that was posted for a speed trap is where a cop use to sit 3 years ago making out reports . In the state of Pa ONLY the state police can have radar guns here . All the counties and small towns like mine can only use these radar detection methods to get us speeding . The 2 strips we drive over method , Vascar or the one that sends 2 beams of light across the street . Even then the police are suppose to have BIG Orange Construction Cones up by them because they have them on the road side and is a hazard if we have to pull off the road for some reason and hit them then damage our cars ! They have been taken to court over that before so they have to use the big orange construction cone . Also if they use they after dark they have to have the reflecting strips on the cones so we done hit then and cause damage . Gotta love the court system ! Jim
there is actually a little app for my android phone called trapster, that will let you know the known spots when your coming up on them. since my speedo has never been hooked up. i use the gps speedo, and trapster when driving my 55.
Well, Pennsylvania sounds like a state that still runs for the people. I also like Oregon's law on fog lights since I hate those. The site is great, it has all the places in San Diego and Coronado that I know are speed traps.
