Great Original and Well Preserved 1950 Ford Pickup: The Joe Smith's Hot Rod Parts Shop Truck.

In 1965 Joe Smith opened a shop by the name of Joe Smith Automotive, Inc. The Georgia-based business spent the next 30 years distributing Ford parts to eager enthusiasts, racers and restorers alike. Joe provided his wisdom and experience to thousands of people who were working on older Fords and today, his name is well known amongst collectors of Ford V8s and traditional hot rods.
This 1950 Ford F1 Pickup truck was Joe's shop truck. Although we do not know when Joe acquired the truck, we do know it was purchased decades ago as a great, original and low mileage truck. Today, it is still a well preserved and great original truck that probably spent its entire life is the south up until a few years ago. The old exterior red paint is very nice and has a great overall look to it. Yes, it shows the wear that a good pickup truck should have but it is really presentable. The body has never been rusted or damaged. The back of the cab has never been beat up. The bed still has what looks like its original wood flooring in it and it is really nice. The bed sides, back and tail gate are nice and straight. The fenders have never been hit or repaired. The interior is very nice and clean. The truck is fitted with a rare, original Ford truck heater and a period sun visor.
It is obvious that this truck was always well cared for and spent its life being carefully and gently used. Since Joe used the truck, it was always kept in top mechanical condition. The current owner, also a major collector of Flathead Fords and traditional hot rods, has recently gone through the truck mechanically front to rear. The truck starts easily hot or cold, idles great and runs strong. The correct 8BA flathead is whisper quiet. The brakes, steering and suspension are tight. The gauges have been recently rebuilt. The truck has been regularly used and maintained. This great old truck looks the way an old Ford truck should look and drives the way a well-sorted Flathead Ford should drive. It is ready for regular use and constant enjoyment. The price is 23,500.00. Located in Madison, Wisconsin.
