This is great, now hopefully we will get to see it at least at the GG show in Bowling Green in 2008. Enjoy your new toy.
I got to see the car at Bonneville 2005 when Chris Elmer owned it. Hope you drive it and enjoy just like it was ment to be. Killer car! Please don't change a thing.

I am not sure how many owners it has had, but at some time it was out on the east coast as evident by the sticker from an old Chevrolet dealership under the driver's window. However,I am not sure at what point the truck was no longer new, so I cannot ell you when exactly it became used. My guess would be around 1936 or so, but I could be wrong. Thanks for the question Mark!</td></tr></tbody></table>love this one!!!
Quick opinion.... It is hard for me to leave anything alone yet I know some things are better untouched. Should I add big 'ol finned brakes and finish out the interior (mainly door panels) on the Green Grenade or leave it alone? Also, I have come across a very old school Paxton Supercharger... I like to hear what you guys have to say. Any good shows or swap meets in my neck of the woods over the winter?
This car became so popular, because it was so "right". I would be hesitant to change... anything. Sure, finned brakes are cool, but they wouldn't really add anything to this car. Paxton? Heck no, its' a hemi with six 97s, it don't need no stinkin' paxton. It's cool that the car is in this area, I'd like to see it in person. Rich
I think it deserves some body work, glass, and lots of chrome ,and a deep deep deep coat of Glossy Black Laquer. Make it your own chapter and most of all have fun in it
Yeah, Do what you want, but it really doesn't "need" anything...I agree-body work and paint would be cool...
NO. Yes. I was in the middle of doing that when I let it go.. .......ummmm NO. The car is unfinshed, so if you can't leave anything untouched, finish it. I'm certainly not saying you have to finish it my way, BUT if I had kept it, it would have been painted a glossy, deep maroon with the firewall and the wheels the same color they are now. I wasn't going to put the skulls back on, but I was going to have "The Green Grenade" lettered back on the cowl just as it is now. I wanted to chrome the headders, rechrome the valve covers and polish the intake. I was going to re-do the firewall so that it had a removable pannel that looked stock (I hate the big square recess it has now) and hid the alternator better. Some other things I wanted to do are build a better bull's eye and chrome it, paint all of the metal on the inside of the car the same color as the wheels, replace the rear deck lid with one that is smooth... The list goes on and on... Get busy Tim, plenty to keep you busy...
Good to hear from you. I really like the Grenade and have been driving it alot. I will probably finish out the interior and leave it alone. I like the car being in bare metal and not having to worry about scratches etc. You don't by chance have any photos before or during your build you would be willing to share do you? Let me know if you need anything or are ever in our neck of the woods. Hope to see you at Bonneville next year...
I just saw the Grenade last Friday. It's at a car dealer across the street from the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green. It's for sale again, this time for $47,000.
I still own it. I am keeping it in the showroom where I work. I can't keep cars here unless I price them. Keeping it here has it's advantages. This place has central heat/air and I get to see it all day while I work. I have been driving it back and forth about 3-4 days a wk. I love the car but for the right price will sell it as I am in process of builiding another model-A so I don't keep hearing shit about me not being the builder Don't be a stranger and stop back in when you are in the area.
Back up for sale again. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1930...oryZ6234QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
this car must be so pissed off right now. I only hope whoever gets this car next when run it hard and put it away wet. its like seeing the most developed horse stuck in a stable. or the baddest dog in the neighborhood chained to a friggen tree.
I have been dreading selling the car once I figured out it needed a new home because I would catch all kinds of hell on here. I love the car but have alot of money tied up in a "Dad only" car. I am planning to build my own out of the stock 30 I have and keep it. This is the first time I have felt guilty over selling one of my cars. Keep an eye on it...
I hear ya man. should have thought about my dealings before I made a comment about yours. my appoligies.
Are all them cars yours that are for sale on the bay ? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1930-...QQcmdZViewItem
I just hope that this time it goes to a good home and whoever gets it will love it, respect it, and DRIVE the hell out of it!! Oh yeah, and keep it for a while?
